Default My Preview Day aka 24 hrs in Monastary

First off, I hope this doesn't get too long because I really want some input and insight and a few answers to some questions. This is supposed to be a dialogue thread.

So, I firstly bring in each of my 4 level 20 farmer characters to Cantha and make the run to Monastary. Then I do the Day of the Tengu quests on each of them to start stocking up on fangs. Along the way I find some lowbie greens, and I like collecting greens, so I'm somewhat excited.

I get my mask for each of my 4 Prophecies guys, then being my new Ritualist. I do every quest there with 2 henchies, including all the secondary profession ones and Tengu quests. He's up to almost level 12, still in Monastary, and I don't see any more quests to take other than the perma-choose your 2nd profession.

First question: is this the quest reward that moves me permanently out of the Monastary? Or does this just unlock some more Monastary quests? I remember in pre-sear, the guy makes it very clear that once you take that quest reward, there will be no going back (to pre-sear), but I see no such obvious warning here. I'm just trying to be careful.

Ok......moving on. I explore the entire island. I notice there are a few zones on the northern end (one is some gardens, another is some guy's keep.

Second question: are these totally closed off to us? I don't see any way to get in. There is a closed gate in front of the zone portal.

Later on the night, I now have masks for all my 6 guys. So I figure I'll farm greens with my ettin farmer and SF mm, because very shortly they won't be allowed any more in. So I wind up finding all the greens I know of, which is an axe, an assn item, a monk focus, a mes staff, an ele wand, a bow, and a curses wand. Each of these bosses has 'skull' in their name, and they are all crimson guys. I did find a mesmer Mantid boss but I don't think that one dropped greens.

Third question: I've been through the entire island MANY times, and i believe I've found every boss. Conspicuously missing is a Ritualist boss. Also, I've seen other people posting different greens, such as a smiting staff (I only get the focus from the mok boss) and a different assassin weapon. Where are these coming from?

Moving on.......I found that there is a collector to upgrade each piece of armor. Cool, I easil found the items to give to the trader........EXCEPT ONE. For the leggings, you need something called like 'defiled flesh'. Didn't come across one of these ever.
Forth question: where is this stuff?

So that's it for now. Would love some feedback.

#1 There is no "no turning back" event in the training island, you get the option to travel to the mainland after the second Co-op mission, but you´re free to explore and do the rest of the numerous quests there to get as much exp to be as near to lvl 20 as possible and you can always return there even after going to the mainland by using the same boat you leave with.

#2 The Gardens and Minister Cho´s keep are the exit and entry points for the first Co-Op mission which you will get from Master Togo after choosing a secondary profession, you can only enter the keep with Togo and the Gardens will be the place you end up after the mission.

I really don´t know an answer to #3 yet, I just made it to the mainland but I intend to return to the training island with better armor to cap some new skills.

For Defiled Flesh, I would wager that they drop from the Afflicted mobs

And one point of interest, those Co-Ops are part of the training for the characters that start in Cantha, so Tyrian characters won´t be able to do them (at least not at the moment).

Chuba: you've been a great help. I certainly appreciate it.

I was under the assumption that the Monastary is like pre-searing, in that once you leave you can't go back. I say that because I thought I read somewhere that for the preview, you could take your lvl 20 Proph characters to the Monastary, but after it ends, you couldn't........I interpreted that as meaning that you normally couldn't get back to the Monastary once you leave it.

As for the defiled flesh (or whatever it's called), it's kinda of stupid to put a collector needing an item not found anywhere near it (in this case on the same island). I guess they just did it like this for whatever reason, but I think you should be able to get all the first armor upgrades in the Monastary island.

As for the co-op missions......well, you've pretty much detailed that. So I'm not quite done yet, and I need to choose me a secondary. Out of curiosity, what's a good seconardy for a Ritualist who uses channelling and communing?
