Default Prophecies length VS. Factions length

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take to complete Factions in comparison to the Prophecies Campaign? Because I'm a slowpoke, it took me a while to fully complete Prophecies...just curious how long it would take to complete Factions, as well.

What I'm looking for is an answer similar to, "Factions takes as long as it takes for you to reach the Crystal Desert."

That's just an example, but I'd really appreciate a REAL answer!!

I haven't finished factions yet so take what you will from this.

Prophecies can be completed IMO, in less than 12 hours, start to finish, though you'll need a very good group as your character probably wouldn't be a very high level when meeting the lich.

Presear 30-60
GNR 30 min
Fort Ranik 30-60 min
Run to Iron Mines + mission 2-3 hours
Thunderhead 60 min (maybe less)
Fire Islands 2-3 hours

grand total 9 -10 hours

I don't know enough about factions yet to estimate a time.

His question is somewhat too general. If he's talking about finishing prophecies as in doing ALL the missions, its gonna take him a little longer than 12 hours especially assuming if he's in groups with similar level characters. Unless you decide to skip from LA to Sanctum, get run to droknars, skip ascension and then get to ring of fire. But that isn't really finishing the game is it?

IMO i think factions requires more strategy to play through the missions and with the recent release and some buggy areas, provided you do all the missions, you're looking at around spending the same time as from pre-searing to finishing ascending in prophecies - no running.

Hope that helps

By my third or 4th character of factions, I had concluded that it took me about 60 hours for a complete character. This meant every quest, all missions (and most bonuses), all normal skills and a large portion of elite caps, getting every town on my map, and some time to just help others/explore/kill stuff, etc. I'm guessing Factions won't be too far off this number, as I'm 12 hours or so in, and am just now to the first mission on the main island. The only difference is that rather than exploring lots of new maps in the progression, factions seems to be more back and forth in the same areas. Now, of course, the time through factions will also decrease with the number of characters I've taken through it, so the final number may indeed be lower than 60 hours, but you'll just have to stay tuned for that

Edit: that 60 hours was with all henchy or pug's, as I did not find my current guild 'till I was nearly done my 4th character.

I'm a -SHE- thankyouverymuch x.x

But regardless, I was referring to completing the game without doing the minor missions. And by that, I mean only the co-operative missions and bonuses. No runs, no pointless missions where you wouldn't get any skills as a reward, you know. I forgot to mention it earlier :X

Sorry my bad, guess i'm too chauvenistic
Keep in mind that it is impossible for you to skip all the quests. Same as in prophecies, in Factions some missions will not lead you to another waypoint and you will have to speak to an NPC to take a primary quest to lead you to the next co-op mission. But I get what you mean :
Cumulatively for me, on my first char which was a factions based necro, it took me 12 hours to get to level 20, and I henched all the way up to Maatu Keep. Finishing game estimated takes you about 20 hours on your first go, give or take mistakes, and mission failures.

This time also has to do with what char class you are using. For me i think i managed to breeze through most of the areas fast because i was a necro MM

Hope that helps

if you play with ur old Tyrian chars, its very fast :S

but really, 13 missions compared to 25... anet really fecked up sofar, unless they implement more pve content later on. the only thing thats left for me is to finish 2 missions on the luxon, try the elite missions, and thats that folks. even with farming and exploring, i beat factions in less than 2 days (and i wasnt playing THAT much)

oh well, whining wouldnt change anything would it

PS its nice to have SHE's in the game

PS2 What bugs me even more, is that there are NO bonuses on missions, essentially making from 13 missions, what, 7-8? sorry, but beating missions for time sucks quite hard

Accutally there are 2 bonus' per mission. You get the standard for finishing and 2 bonus' Master and i think its elite.

Factions with a Tyria level 20 character is about 14 hours. This is when you have no clue about the game.

I've put in 40 hours with my Prophecy character and haven't beaten the game yet.

I've put in 30 hours with my Factions character and haven't beaten the game yet.

I guess I'm slow or just s*ck at this game. I do take my time however.

If you want to judge how fast you can get to the last areas of the game factions will take you longer being that you have to actually do quest to get to the end of the game. I used my main account and ran my 2nd necromancer to ring of fire in 3 hours from creation time to arrival time. the bulk of that was doing thunderhead with my other necro and 6 henchies(spiteful, spinal shivers and heal spells)

Why would you suck at this game if you want to take your time?

I just like to take my time, do as many quests as I can find, try to finish them before I beat the final area, read as much of the text and watch as many of the cut scenes as I can... I've been playing since the Head Start Event, and I'm no where close to beating the game. I count that as money well spent.

I've got to agree with fb2000 on this one. It was fun going for bonuses. It's not terribly exciting to go for speed records =\
