Default How does choosing a faction affect your guild and individual characters?

Our guild is trying to decide which faction (Kurzick or Luxon) to ally ourselves with. We have a few questions I'd like answered, if any of you could be so kind

The way I understand it now is that choosing your allegiance ONLY affects which elite mission you can shoot for, and which towns you can control. I could be wrong there...here's some specific questions

1. If your guild aligns with one faction, can you still do quests/gain faction points/travel to all the towns of the other faction?

2. Once you choose one faction, can you switch later on? Is it hard to do?

3. If you ally yourself with one faction, you can start 12v12 battles from your guild hall. Can you participate in 12v12 for the other side by going to the correct town on the other side? Or by choosing Luxon do you lose the opportunity for any guild members to do 12v12 battles for the Kurzicks?

In short...how does the guild's choice of sides affect your individual characters?

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you ally yourself with the kurzicks, you will be in an alliance with those who kill baby turtles and live in a cold dark forest. If you go with Luxons, you will protect the turtles and live in the sun on the jade sea.

1. Yes
2. Not as an alliance, only as a guild (forcing you to reform an alliance if you are in one).
3. I think the only way to 12v12 for "the other side" is to be guested into the hall of someone who is on the other side. Not 12v12ed yet though, so could be wrong on this last one.

It should be noted...that once you choose a side, you will be forced to kill/bribe the guards in the other side's explorable areas in order to use the Rez Shrines.
