Default Tyria won't let me play Missions+Quests?

So, I made a Factions character and completed Factions and I was wondering why I couldn't do any Quests or Missions in Tyria? I just want to do the Quests to get my skills points and I can't seem to get any Quests in Ascalon. But I can get Quests in Lion's Arch. Can someone help me!

Thank you.

Thats so gay. So what about Shiverpeaks? I only needed Ascalon for some Skills Quests.

i guess they made this for storyline issue.

Finding devona and company sweating the way to LA while they aready reached it from long time while you was playing faction is not really smart.

I suppose you got run to Ascalon? I went to Beacons, stopped at Gates of Kryta. Noticed no quests at Beacons so didn't bother going further. Funny thing is the Kryta icon is flashing as though that mission should be done...

I got all the way to Ascalon with my Ritualist - wasn't allowed to go in missions with anyone and had no quests availible to me. NPC's that usually had quests simply said "Your a Long Way From Lions Arch!" or something like that.

I did Gates of Kryta and the seaboard mission as well as some Lions Arch quests. Worked out fine and people there had no problem with me in their teams. I'm going to try to ascend my Rt guy and get through to Shiverpeak missions.

It's really about the storyline. Players in Prophecies were part of the Ascalon Vanguard, working for their Prince. Of course Canthan characters who come to Tyria to help Mhenlo out are not that.

LOL, I have to agree with the NPCs who said "you're a long way...". What do you mean your Rt wasn't allowed to go in missions, yet you still did Gates of Krya?

From what I've been able to gather, a Canthan character can't do any quests prior to Kryta. So when you bring your As or Rt over on the boat you won't be able to get any quests from Ascalon or north Shiverpeaks. There was a rumor that the missions were still available, but I guess that it gets to remain a rumor

Some Krytan quests don't work either. Like "The Last Hog".

I brought my Canthan character to Crystal Desert, completed the 3 ascension missions, and defeated Dopple. When I went to Vizunah Square, it put me in Foreign Quarter with all the Tyrian folks. I think it's because of ascension, but I don't know for sure.

It can't be about the storyline. If Anet wanted to enforce continuity of the storyline, then Tyrians wouldn't be allowed back into the Ascalon areas after fleeing with Rurik. And after finding out about the White Mantle, players wouldn't be allowed back into places like Lion's Arch. But they were, which never made sense given the story.

I wouldn't call it enforcing the continuity when Canthans can't do stuff pre-LA. It's more about Anet having to change the dialogue on those quests and missions for it to make sense, which apparently would have been too much work.

Edit: Or have some quest for Canthan players to become part of the vanguard, but that would be just about as exciting as coming out of pre-searing on level 20 with max armor.
