Default Got scammed?

Such a gulliable person i am, my trust for others has been deminished into nothing but dusk...

It all happened just a couple minutes ago when this guy by the name of name edited was selling his extra Factions cd key for 100k. As a relentless person that i am...i couldnt passed this offer up, so i gave him my trust along with 63k and sum green items for the cd key (he said because i seemed like a "good person," he offered to lower the price to what i had left)..But to my dismay..that (bypassing the censor). I logged back on "hoping" that he mistyped the cd key for me...but when i started to pm him, there was no answer. So than after a couple seconds...i become suspicious and finally realized that he scammed my money, but most importantly of all, my binding trust for others... I started to DEMAND my money back (not green items...hoping that it would act as leverage and that he would just give me back my money and apologize as well<<LoL...as korny as it sounds...i was expecting this from him <that's how i was taught to do anyway) But that bastard...knowingly that he has scammed an innoccent "ex-trusting" man like myself added me to his ignore.

Even though i losted everything i had put my blood and soul into (exaggeration...trying to create an effect) in earning every penny/gold that i had. I've learned a great deal of a lesson here..and that lesson is..NEVER TRUST ANYONE YOU DONT KNOW~~ BECUZ THE WORLD IS OUT TO GET U!!! why do you think that identity theft is the #1 criminal activity out there,...becuz ppl dont care about ppl..they hurt, kill, and sabotage others to critique their own status of benefit... and ironically, sadly to say, but i think were the only species in this world who backstabbs one another..

bitter lesson mate, but ya, its true

what bugs me is that ive been scammed for ultra-stupid stuff.. ill never forget this once:

i started having my lvl2 monk ran over tyria to get her to lvl20 faster, managed to get to Yaks bend, however i find no runners there. Someone pms me and says "if you run my char, ill run urs afterwards". i asked him several times what his "runner char" is, he starts boasting how he got 15k armor on him and blabla...

guess who was left in bend.. what kills me, i wouldve done it for him, if hed simply asked ><

oh well, people are greedy, always were always will be

Seriously, if you think someone would give an "extra Faction key" away for 100k, then maybe this was the wakeup call you needed.

I feel sorry that you got scammed and I hope this is somehow resolved, but just know that if someone legitimately had an "extra" Factions key, they would be selling it for wayyy more then 100k.

This is a commun scaming trick.. I have been scam to, the same way as you. He ask 100k+80 ecto, i pm him, and say i only had 100k+13 ecto and he say okay, it will be anough, cause you seem to be a nice person...etc... I got scam.. I send message to Areanet, and they kick him. Yeah, one scamer out of gw...
arenet tell me that Buying(or selling) account was illegal, so the tell me not to buy anyone account, and, they thank me to make the in game play of guildwars a better world... No money back, only the sastifaction of beating a scammer...

100k for a CD-key?
That would already seem a bit suspiscious. THis would basically mean approxiamately $50 for a CD-Key in terms of real money. Now, if you were to surf on Ebay or some Googled site, you would find offers like 100k for six dollars.

Big difference?

Never trust players who advertise for strange things that can't be put into a trade screen. You will get destroyed every 9 times out of 10.

Again,

If someone's asking 100 + 80, and you say "I only have 100 + 13" and they accept, shouldn't that ring some kind of alarm in your head?? That's 67 Ecto less then the person asked, or 335k.

That sucks

Just like other night at K Center someone got scammed 100k +5 ectos so this player tells everyone in main chat about it and wanted everyone to help him get his money back. So what did most people do? They all laughed at the guy that got scammed becuase he didn't wait to see the item/s just put in his trade and hit Accept button too soon.

Purchasing CD Codes, or accounts in Game is ALWAYS a scam. Easyest form of a scam out there.

Morale of the story, go to the store and buy your CD keys/accounts.

It's more serious: Selling cd keys is illegal. Read the EULA (it's that thing where everyone clicks "I Accept" without actually reading it). You cannot sell your GW account, it is NOT your property.
It is a violation to buy/sell accounts or cd keys in game for in-game gold. You, by buying, violate the license agreement as much as the person trying to sell it, and you could be banned.

I saw some guy in Droknar's recently who advertised his spare key for 50k. What really made me think though was the fact that he said he would first give out the key, allow you to test it, and then take the money.
I did not take him up on this offer because it felt really strange... but I wonder how this would have worked. How can you possibly scam someone if you actually do it like he said?
Except for getting scammed yourself.... I don't think many people would actually pay afterwards....

seriously...who actually reads that?? But in a more serious note...your right...i shouldnt have considered in purchasing a cd key in the first place, not because it was a scam, but because it was illegal. And because of this, i resulted in losing all my posessions i had worked my blood and sweat for.. Some people might say that it was for greed, but i did it because i wanted to get a key for my friend so he could play with me since i had already purchased mine and he couldnt get his until his birthday...which is 5 months from now...But all in all...it was all due to my stupidity and idiotacy in trusting others...gosh i knew i shoulda went with my gutt feelings. Now i don't have anything to start with in factions. We'll if u feel deep remorse and pity for me, (rest of message deleted)

Posting names of scammers is not allowed, begging for money is distasteful as well as not allowed, violating the EULA is not allowed, and bypassing the word filter is definitely not allowed. Closed.
