@SeanHeartstone

I was a member of your alliance for a few hours yesterday, no doubt they are raising some sort of stink about that or what not. And let me say, it might be wise for you to get out now, before the drama really begins. Officers screaming at, and subsequently kicking, members that dont put in more then 5k / day, the administration (several members) refusing to even advertise a The Deep run because "we dont have time to 'just play' this weekend, we are in a major farming crunch", people burning out on >50k/day submitted over extended periods, and their truly unbelieveably chaotic attempt at The Deep once we actually got around to it - ALL speak of an upcoming, gory, and overly dramatic, break-up.

Once ANet does something like scales faction decay based off of which town you hold, your alliance will break up. Im sorry, but that fascist approach will not work in GW. This is honestly not trying to defame blackblades (I have some impressive screens should I want to do that), but rather give my warning to their members - your alliance is doomed. You will loose Cavalon, maybe not today, but its likely to happen, and ya know what? Its only a big deal if you make it. We havent held House in over a week and weve been doing Urgoz (and now The Deep) that whole time.

Not only that, but theres nothing binding you guys except a greedy desire to keep everyone out of your town... Please, please take my advice. Find an alliance that offers stability - its a game and you dont need the sort of drama the black blades will undoubtably decay into in your life.

I hope you listened and considered.

Is that where my factions payment went? To pay for an area of the game I MAY NEVER SEE?!?!

I can tell you this: a lot of people would love to have the ability to donate all their faction to an alliance that just opened up this area to everyone.
No your factions payment more then likely went into Chapter three’s favor system so it can be even more pathetic then the current factions one, where the casual gamers will be locked out from fifty percent of the really challenging mission because they can’t farm enough points to get the next area.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I like all aspects of Factions I think the dev team did a great job. I like the death squads of Assassins or better known “The Minion Masters Dream Team”, some time’s frustrating but fun none the less. The enemies AI skills elementals especially max fire damage max earth damage and well the mass energy they have and the ability to have an instant recharge of a thirty second skill. The monks AI system surpasses Prophecies monks by running into the middle of the battle and ignoring to heal you when you need it the most to only let you die, the way they think about rezing you as they stand over your body. And I can’t go on with out saying how great the assassin AI is oh how it is wonderful they are at shadow stepping out of battle into a mob of three groups as he/she agro’s them back to your location. Oh I can’t forget the warrior’s AI as you try to retreat and them dieing covering your back leaving you tankless.

The frustration of a mission that says you Failed only to have to map back to town go back out and have it only say mission failed, mapping back to town and having to abandon the quest and run back out to pick it up again only because it doesn’t reset as it should in town the first place.

And again the insane amount of time, carpel tunnel, cramping, not enough eat & sleep, and abandoning what life you have to grind away to get mass factions points to own a town.

I not complaining nor whining that they need to be improved, I’m just stating what was said across mass fan forums from the Free Preview Event to now that the Favor system to elite mission was the wrong choice to make and they shouldn’t have listened to that money who thought of it.

Oh I can’t forget about the whiners who complain about everyone who hated the favor system to begin with. It’s ironic that they whine the loudest.
/end sarcasm

Uber, If you bothered to read my first post you would realize that my point was trying to give an argument for why I thought the deep should stay exclusive. We were farming hard to hold on to TC when you joined, which we since lost so the point is moot. Your accusations of us being Facists are completely unjustified. I also find it funny that you have the right to accuse us of this when you lied your way into our alliance.

All that we ever asked of our members, at least in our guild Luna, was that they contributed 10K faction before they go into the deep. Nothing like 5K a day. And our guild had 2nd most of the alliance.

Now with TC controlling Cavalon and allowing everyone in there's not much point to having the argument, because it's gone now. We're not even trying to win back Cavalon because people can just camp the deep. But, and I think this needs to be said, doing so is going to be quite detrimental to the alliance system. Many, many people in our alliance found these few days as extremely rewarding. I know that my experience in a guild has never been comparable to this. But, as I said before, why care about being in an alliance without having some sort of reward for working together. I personally would have prefered if TC captured cavalon and then kept it to themselves. So, I still think that it would have been better if it stayed exclusive, but there's no point to it now.

See you all in the deep.

And, just for the record, we beat it first.

Kind of unrelated. Just came from the deep. From what I saw in there, the members of blackblades in there are certainly not very popular with the masses.

Lots of cursing going on at both sides.......somehow it makes me think that 14 year old blackblade kids have been swapped with the common masses of 14 year olds.

All I saw in there were a bunch of immature brats who were cursing each other out on common chat (both blackblades and the people who got in for the first time through the ferry service by TC). Factions is really going down the tube in common courtesy it seems.

Firstly, fascinating discussion - and it persuaded me to finally register after a few days lurking

Anyone who has managed to control an elite mission should be congratulated on their achievement. Even though it requires faction farming, it's still a test of skill and organisation. And there should be tasks with rewards, and some of these rewards should be hard to get.

Having said that, I feel that the system as it stands is a huge mistake. The number of people who can access elite content at any time is too small, and there are many good players who may never be able to access the missions at all, regardless of their skill.

(I'm not one of these, I am a very poor player, but I'm still having fun!)

It's also incredibly divisive, as numerous threads on this and other sites will attest. And yes, faction farming seems to be a poor way of deciding the issue.

which is a shame, because the alliances themselves are brilliant. It's a great way of bringing guilds together. And the idea of competitive PVE is great too.

/sign me up to the idea that there should be another way to access elite missions without being in the top alliance, but for some sort of 'cost'. For example, a one-off Faction payment (which is Faction that cannot be spent for permanent control), or a monetary fee (a percentage of which is paid to the top alliances as a 'tax').

Alternatively, change the current system so that ownership changes more frequently. Preferably both

My friends and myself got invited into the tc alliance today. Thus far they seem like a very nice and very community orientated which we cant say for the black blades as their only purpose was to hold content from the masses and monopolize the mission. I will personally farm as much faction as possible so that a group who cares about letting other people experience that which a-net wants to brag about making can hold cavalon.

I dont think you are taking anything away from the reward by letting others in you are on the other hand allowing them to experience a part of the game they paid for. If you want to see what really takes away from the value of items in the game and why you have to do so much more to get rewarded go look at elonas or droks at all the mo/w bots they are the ones screwing up your game and economy they are the reason everything gets nerfed.

Well I seen what your intentions where from the get go and I was correct it was that whole “I’m elite because I can do the elite mission and brag” attitude. And since the shoes on the other foot now you seem to be pissed off about it because you lost bragging rights. Yet one of many examples of why, well I am sure you get the picture by now.

Trust me when I say that the majority of the GW community is closer because someone listened and felt the same way the community felt, that the elite favor system was a mistake in the first place.

And this still have a valid argument, just because it doesn’t to you anymore.

Bkbd alliance members are still camped in the deep, joining the "random pugs that wouldnt make it out of the first room." and griefing them once they get farther in. Great strategy on the part of you guys, that should improve your negative rating public image even greater

Here's another great example being set by your group.

After posting in this thread I was Pm'd by one of your lackies who acted like a bratty little kid. Very mature, but it was a good 1/2 hour of laughs at how someone could argue about nothing and act like a elementary school student behind a keyboard in defense of the bkbd alliance and "the deep" elite mission. The kid got so mad because he made no valid arguments, and was made to look like a fool, that he put me on his ignore list when he was the one to PM me to begin with.

First trip in with with a PuG and no clue about the mission we made it to the 3rd room

Not so bad for a group of PuG vermin is it.

You guys should take note of how TC runs an alliance, you will learn something. And you don't even need spies to figure it out.

I'm not sure of how to approach this... so i'll just say it. I'm in BkBd. I joined the guild before we had an alliance, before we owned a city, I joined because they had alot of people that were fairly far in Factions and i was able to play the content with people instead of henchies. Once we got the alliance going we had a huge drive to control bigger and better cities. Obviously, this drove us to farm faction, but it wasn't a mindless grind. We did missions, quests, and alliance battles everyday. I felt like I really worked to get into Cavalon. Now, I enjoyed the deep very very much. I'm not really sad I can't get back in there because I never got good drops anyway. My only problem is that everywhere I go, people spit on me(verbally). I'm truly sorry that we owned the city for such a long time, I'm sorry you feel cheated, I'm sorry that the drive to farm faction is not something that everyone possesses. I just want people to know that BkBd is a really great guild, for me. I've had alot of fun, all of our allied guilds are great and friendly and very helpful. But now that everyone is in the deep and we aren't #1 anymore... everyone looks down on us so much that's it's actually painful. I zone into missions and say LFG and all I get are people whispering hate mail to me. I almost couldn't play Guild Wars today because everywhere i went people wanted me gone. I find it interesting that people are acting like this AFTER they are in the Deep already. Anyway, us Black Blades are people too so enjoy being in the deep and stop bashing on us plz... or at least just do it behind our backs so we can't notice.

I do have one question...it may have been asked before but I haven't read every page of this post.

Why are you all so eager to farm the deep like crazy for the rare items yet none of you want to farm the faction to get in the deep? (I understand this question doesn't apply to everyone. I also understand this question applies to alot of people)

peace out. Please stop hating on me.

I don't look down on you as a Guild, I look down on your Guild's attitude, We can farm better than you so we are Elite. Compared to some chines farmers you are noob's at farming. You guy's did real good getting Cavalon as fast as you did. But as you now know it's a long hard way to the "top", and it's hard making friends when you are the top dog, but the road down is short and painfull specially if you are showoff's and try to rub it in.
Welcome to the real world.

It’s the way your guildies and alliance guildies represented themselves and for their actions are what have set the pace of attitude towards anyone in your alliance just look at how they are acting now. Granted it’s unfair to the good people in your guild but its guilt by association, yet there are consequences and you have to be willing to face them.

It’s not that people are not willing to do what it takes to own a city, it’s all about the amount of time they have to do it. And they also work hard at what they do. They just have a thing called a real life in which they have thing’s they must do.

It’s not about the Farming, nor the drops that’s what all you make it out to be about.

It’s the part of the game that everyone has asked for since day one. Only to find they can’t do it because of a favor system that was never wanted in the first place.

I can’t speak or the others, but sorry held and still holding a strong position on the favor system to access the “Elite Mission”. We hated it, we didn’t want it, and we begged Anet not to do it.

listen..... Blackblade alliance is from what i've herd a "stuck up bunch of PvE nubs.. that want all the money to themselves and make the most profit by restricting the access to Deep..." you guys do realize that doing the DEEP requires skill... if all the newbies in Cavalon were to be allowed in... it would not make any difference...groups would go in a die

your guys were even charging to let people in.... i think TC did the community a favor...

you can be in defense if you want.... i know people in your alliance and your MINIMUM FACTION FARM OF 1 HOUR PER DAY RULE.... i think that is just pathetic....

some of your guys have posted to say we dont farm we just play the game and we are good..... to that i /laugh you guys are and will always be hated for hurting the community...

Suppose I'm among the people who want to farm it, but anyways.

I did three runs to the Deep ~yesterdayish, first try we got killed to the entrance. Second try, soso, bit better. On third try we got to some seventh or something room, got smashed as we had no idea what was waiting for us in that room (the one with bridge and onis running in from both sides)

The mission is really challenging, and I liked it a lot, you got lot of mobs coming at you, big team trying to fend them off, total chaos in a pug, and yet you make it. Fun, fun and fun.

The way this thread is going right now, it's just another alliance versus alliance argument, which doesn't have a place on these forums. If someone wants to start back up the original discussion, be my guest, but keep the e-drama out of it. Closed.
