I have a silly question, where can I get the FS in Canthan? I tried the skill masters but ...... , well I hope that I don't to buy prophetcies just to get this ...

Whoa, unfortunately, Frozen Soil is a phophecies only skill =(

Since I'm lazy and try to do everything with my mes, I'd thought I'd mention that I've been doing something similar with Me/R. The Me is really rather useless, but like I said, I'm lazy and don't want to level another char.

12 Wilderness, 11 Beast, 6+4 Illusion (just for the offhand energy)

Be sure to bring Eve, because blood ritual is nice. I bring her instead of the vile hench, but everyone else is the same as Kate's lineup.

Storm Chaser
Distortion (or Dodge, or something to take care of healing seed; see below)
Serpent's Quickness
Spike Trap
Barbed Trap
Viper's Nest
Flame Trap
Frozen Soil

Dust Trap is way too much energy for me, so I don't use it. My only problems occur when the stupid henches aggro the Wardens (I still seem to have about a 75% chance of still finishing the quest when that happens, but it's annoying), when there's a bad Oni spawn, or when healing seed goes off as my traps do and they all go back to full health. At least, I think that it's healing seed. Is it? If so, does anyone have any ideas about countering it? I've tried bringing enchantment removal, but I haven't managed to strip it yet.

i use an additional superior expertise and eve - works like a charm - no energy problems.
http://home.versanet.de/~mdgeist/pics/duel_monk.JPG -> that is how the monknpc looks like. just call him for the henches: no seed will come (dom hench) and they will all die nicely.
out of 25runs i have to repeat maybe 2-3 due to bad spawns or me totally messing it up - the rest is absolutely predictable and therefor: easy.

spike, flame, dust, sq, troll, qz, brambles, soil - and that is not even optimized: i could put in a running skill but then the henches tend to walk off the path i like them to take. it's what i threw together in the first place - and it works.
you will see me in the international - ever 3-4 minutes for about 10 seconds. ^^

is there a build that is not required FS? ... I did a group farming lastnight, they wastes a lot of time doing chest hunt ...

Double Dragon & flame burst finish them off. Its a quick <4min run.
Try two ele's with Starburst. Lay down bed of coals just before the last dialog box, 2 SB's and game over in abut 3 seconds.

sure - any trap or other massive aoe combo can do it without soil - it is just an insurance for the occasion that you don't kill them all at once. and i love soil - so i happily jump on each chance to bring it.

I did about what Pyrthas does last night with a monk.

I trap-trap-trap, then when he says "draw your weapons" I run off and cast my Frozen Soil, then run back and trap until they argo. *boom*

I usually just stand there and take the hits, just to keep them in the trap area. Took me awhile to figure out why the stupid henchies were taking so long to rez me after the fight. d'oh!

I'd say if you need amber get it now, because this will be a lot harder to hench when they spread that team out.

My N/R has this:

Soul Raping: 9
Death Magic: Max

Skills:

First grab some corpse candidate at the gate. ( 4 Merchants)

Then rush to activate the quest and get to the duelist. You can get some minions if you mistakenly aggro some mobs on the way there.

B4 you get into the quest mark, try to find out the healer (a gal with short pant, if you can find it out, sacrifire your life with soem MM skill so that she come out for healing.) Then get cast frozen soil outside the battle area but make sure it close enough to effect the enemy.

Once you get everything ready just get in and start killing the healer first. Then dont forget to recast frozen soil if needed. But make sure you get away from frozen soil after you cast. If the ele cast the "shaking earth" on you, the frozen soil spirit dont get killed.

If you make it correctly, the whole run will be under 4 minutes. But if you mess up everything, just restart. So, I suggestion to get some minions on the way there just to make sure you get higher percentage to win the fight.

To me, 10/12 of my run is sucessful run.

I hope you guys also can post your better solution to this nerfed.

I think Anet cant nerfed this again because this time we actually get into fight with those mob but not setting some traps b4 the fight.


Some ppl said there leave a guy behind and activate the quest after the rest got traps. But i wonder the best complete time by using this method and also the time waste on gettting members + the failing percentage.


Afterall, Killing the healer first and get a frozen soil is a key point for this quest because those duelist really good in healing and resing each other.

nerfed yeah, the MM build could work, but I don't think it will be the fastest way, now the trapper build is nerfed, i think barrage rangers with an order necro or (echo) nukers would work best....

Yeah but I got 2 PC and 2 Accounts, SO i write a simple keyboard macro to let the 2nd character to run with me as a corpse then have it equiped pets.... haha 2 more corpse for me, lol and yeah! now i can get 800 faction in 1 run now
