Default Farmin Shiro-Ken outside of Harvest Temple - Tutorial

I have recently been experimenting with the farming of several canthan areas, and while I have a few I'd like to keep to myself, this idea is too good for me to not inform others of it. Will it be nerfed? Probably, but you aren't losing much if it does.

Before I begin, if you are looking for the oober gold mine of doomhax, this isn't it. This run takes a while, takes concentration, and won't be something you can mindlessly do. I did this run for the sake of proving its possibility as well as seeing what sort of cash and drops you can get out of these guys.

Step One:

The Skillbar

1) Protective Spirit
2) Spirit Bond
3) Your choice of an elite [I've alternated between SoJ and Glyph of Renewal)
4) Silver Armor
5) Glyph of Concentration
6) Blessed Aura
7) Essence Bond
8) Balthazar's Spirit

Attributes:
11 + 3 + 1 Divine
6 + 3 Prot
Rest should go into either smiting or earth, depending on your elite. [Ensure you have the lowest armor rating available]

As for health, you want as much as possible. I have an HoD sword with enchanting, but my prot offhand gives me a total of 330 health. If you are not using a sup smiting because you chose glyph of renewal or another non smiting elite, then ensure that you take off the superior rune. The trick with spirit bond is that it will activate before prot spirit for damage, but then prot spirit will reduce the taken damage to five. However, these guys have Song of the Mists, which will steal 20 health. This is a laughable low amount at 330 health and beyond.

Step 2)
The Farm

Walk outside of harvest temple, cast your maintained enchantments, and proceed to gather all of the mobs possible on the staircase and lower section of the map. This will include debil shot rangers (who have interrupts), warriors (who have healing signet), and assassins (who along with the warriors have degen). Watch your energy. Until you have fully gathered, do not spam skills. You should have this:

Yeah, my health is a bit low. I'm too cheap to get another sup rune, but it doesn't usually matter at that point. Every hit of damage up to around a max health of 500 is going to be negated here, and song of the mists is going to be rendered useless other than for them to self heal.

After you have gathered the mobs, it is then time to start casting. If in doubt, glyph of concentration and spirit bond before anything else. Despite lasting for 12-13 seconds, it is still easy for that to go down. Do NOT cast if glyph gets interrupted. Just wait for glyph to recharge unless it is an emergency. Same for prot spirit.

Once everything is safe, do a glyph of concentration (or renewal if you are feeling gutsy) followed by silver armor. With all three to four groups, this will easy kill your first target or two. Repeat this pattern. You should start to see plenty of numbers (this is just a split second's worth):

After a while, the drops and over 200 xp a kill start coming in:

And here is the hard part. Finishing off the archers is incredible hard. I sometimes just avoid it altogether myself. The energy you get starts to get tight due to debil shot and the need to cast. When things start getting hard to kill, start risking a glyph of renewal and take a chance on getting interrupted.

Due to the run's slow nature, I'm still looking for improvements (For a SOLO, I know I could take an SS necro and do it in my sleep) and suggestions. I think that while this might not be the most profitable farm, the xp yield for it due to the high levels could make it a decent powerlevelling place. Regardless, enjoy.

And if the image hosting runs out of bandwidth or doesn't work, let me know. If I'm not busy, my IGN will be Kontra Epsilon. Happy farming and good luck.

Shouldn't this thread go into the farming section?

might this be a good way to get to Merki and Rajazan? And if so, could this build kill them?

you'll have it tough killing rajazan as he has enchant removal, as does all the outcast necros along the way

umm, how can a low lvl player get to take place to hire a pwr lvler?
Or do you actually meant gaining skill points?

Thanks for your guide, it really amazed me that Shiro'kens are actually farmable. Anet create Song of the Mists to ward off 55monk. Guess that ppl always has a way to get around such obstacle.

two thumbs up!! Cheers

p/s: kinda sad that Shiroken Ranger cant be killed... i hate them so much

i switched out for glyph of renewal for retribution (9 dmg max, but with approx 300 hp thats all the shiroken would take anyway >_<)
seems to work better since there are so many interrupts to stuff up the renewal+silver armour combo

oh yeah i tried it without silver armour, just doesn't work, SoJ/retribution just doesn't spike them hard enough to get past their heals, so far though its still fun once iv'e killed all bar maybe 3 warriors and the rangers just rezone
