Default Why is Tahnnaki Temple (explorable) so big?

I had been in Tahnnaki Temple a couple of times after I beat it, but I never realized that if you keep going north and cross the bridges, you get back into some VERY nasty territory. I needed to cap Wanderlust from a boss there, which is how I found this large area. I explored it with my henchies for about an hour, but the place is

a) a maze

and b) huge

so eventually I got sick of killing Jade mesmers and logged out.

So is there anything really interesting up there that I didn't find? Does it zone into another zone or anything cool? Or is it just there to make my job of getting Master Canthan explorer that much harder?

There's a quest from a guard at the very end of the nasty area.

Yeh I always wondered why they had the quest giver at the end of a MAZE.

It is really not worth the handful of gold, 3000 exp and one imperial commendation...

Maybe because its a game, and its meant to be played, if u accept quest because of gold/exp then you are not playing the game the way you should.

The quest is still better than the one in Skyway where you have to pay 2K to finish.

Someone was high when they created that one.

It's funny, you can certainly complete the Factions missions faster than the Tyrian ones, but if you want to truly explore all the zones in detail, it really can take a long time.

And it doesn't take a long time to explore places like The Falls and Lornar's/Dreadnought's/Snake?

Those aren't easy areas, to be sure, but in my opinion you get through them faster since there is really only one major path. The sprawling city in Northern Cantha, on the other hand, is very much a maze -- especially areas like The Underground and Tahnnaki Temple.

Big maze like areas like the Catacombs from Pre.

Sometimes you do get what you wish for.

Some people hate it, but its one of the few things I like about Factions. IT makes it feel like a real city.

Two things:

1. Your way of playing a game isn't the only way. Don't impose your ideas about game enjoyment on me or anyone else.
2. Why give gold/exp at all if it's not there as an incentive to take the quest? Obviously ANet knows people are motivated by different things. Otherwise all quests would be for "the fun of it" and not for any tangible in-game reward.

That spike is nasty, it is even worse when you have lots of dp. You go down the second you start fighting mages.

This is the only quest in the game that actually made me angry. There should be rewards to make it worth the 2k - skills, capture signets, a pile of imperial commendations, something. The 10k experience award just doesn't cut it.

No kidding. I say deport those ninja chickens. 2K to pay that bribe isn't worth wasting since you get pretty much nothing in return. Now, if after you complete the quest, the tengu merchant were to give you a discount on items like the exclusive merchant in alliance owned towns, I would jump at the chance to help my fine feathered friends. Hell I'd invest in their operation and donate to a tengu charity fund....

Well I am not that motivated doing quests which reward is only xxxx experience and few golds and imperial comendation, totems... etc. when I am already at lvl 20.

Some ppl like to do quests, but I d like to be motivated to finish it when u run around the maze and at the end u get bunch of XP u dont need.

I would like to see if there was some other rewards completing quests after ur lvl 20.. maybe faction points or something more interesting?

All those places are flat-out easy, especially compared to the north temple complex. IMHO, Jade Knights are the toughest melee fighters in the game. Triple Chop is evil!

I finally settled on a decent strategy for them. Take the Earth Hench and when you engage them, take out the mages and messmers first. Trying to take the Knights out first is a Bad Idea™.
