Default Some questions about the Dragon Festival...

I apologize if it's already been asked, and by all means if a moderator feels that this would be better served as a post in already existing thread then move it....I just want to make sure it's seen and possible answered.

Okay....so the dragon festival is going on. I see people selling the jade wind orbs left and right but I can't justify BUYING them. HOWEVER, I'm a bit confused as to what they do.
I've done the four quests that the Captain gives you in the Monestary for 240 plus a few that dropped in the process, and I've also done a few of the dragon battles. I hvae yet to do the carny games (I detest carnies in RL to be honest.) and am thinking about just going through them with existing chars.

My questions are...what exactly are the orbs for? Someone told me they were to buy the dragon masks at the end of the festival, but does anyone know a ballpark of how many orbs=one mask?

Also....is there now any way for a Tyrian born char to get to the island? I only have two Canthan chars and no open slots to create a new one (well...maybe one but I like having two open pvp slots)

what will these masks do other then look cool?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Kilane, i have the answer to all of your questions

Dragon masks will start being handed out on july 4th to my understanding and will be every 2 hours. they are 250 orbs a piece. to find what they look like go to guildwars.com and click the banner that says "Dragon Festival" or something like that, you cant miss it.

The Ring games in the festival place is kind of a waste of money... you buy tickets for 15g a piece and basically gamble them for titles (which take way too long to get) but you can leave your guildwars on while you're sleeping or away in the rings with a lot of tickets on you to get the title if you really want them.

To get Tyrian chars over to shing jea, go outside of The Marketplace to Kaineng docks and speak to the person that is near the dock (not sure of his name) he will give you a choice to decline or travel to the island.

the masks dont do anything other than look cool. they are customized so you can't trade them for money but you an always trash them if you need extra storage space.

I really feel that when you redeem the orbs you should get the same stats on the dragon mask as exist on the current headgear you are wearing at the time.
I mean, otherwise, we will soon be over-running our storage space with cute, but otherwise useless items. So far there is the...

Jack O' Lantern
Santa Hat
Antler's
and now the Dragon Mask

that is four slots of storage if you have them all. Will we get a Bowler Hat with a Shamrock hanging out the brim for St. Patty's day? Bunny Ears for Easter? We are all going to become the Imelda Marcos' of hats!!

I think that it would be nice if they simply allowed for the item to have the same stats as what you are wearing when you redeem your prize, minus any runes you have added. Then they could make specialty armor and not just hats.
