my tips (I'm just echoing points here)

Bring a IAS

my fav is flurry with a zealous hilt, you loose dammage but you're 100% sustainable, in PvE mass mobs can cause fights to drag on, you keep flurrying that Adrenal keeps flowing in.

actually I think Flurry or Tigers/Bestial fury are the ones to take, Frenzy is a bit too risky in high levels and I think the others are a nice idea but woefully inadequate due too way to long recharge times.

take a good chain of attacks

ie, Sever, Gash, Galrath, Final

Evis, Ex chop, a twist or rake or Pen blow, or Furious Axe

FGJ, Dragon slash, Sun n Moon slash, Dragon slash, Sun n Moon slash, Dragon slash, etc etc

You have 7 skill slots, not 8, number 8 is a res sig.

I find brining a speed buff is also useful. Reducing time taken between targets means more killing, Sprint or 'Charge' are my faves

The most important thing about tanking is to do what your comfortable with. There is no 'best' build, so do what your good at. I f what your doing doesn't work well, change it and get something that does.

I personally prefer high armour builds for tanking high lvl areas. Avoiding dmg from the tanks is nice, but getting eaten alive by the ele's wont help your team any. Dolyak sig + watch yourself is a nice armour buff to have and greatly reduces the dmg you take. Also you should try and take an interupt along (distracting blow/disrupting chop). These can help you and your team tremendously. Lately I've been using triple chop + cyclone axe and doign lots of dmg to groups of enimies, as well as building adrenaline faster. What else i take depends on what kind of monsters i'm facing. There is no one build that works perfectly for everything.

Only universal things all tanks need to be able to do is smart agroing and hold the agro off your casters. DO those and the rest will come.

If you aren't tanking you don't need 6 defensive skills, 2 or 3 is enough.

You don't need to tank at all if your group is able to kill the mobs fast enough.

You don't need to spam heal sig. That's why your high armor and monk/ritualist/healer are for. Plus you should only take damage from high energy spikes (like lightning orb from a lvl 28 boss) and degen anyway.

Frenzy shouldn't be used in PvE. My monk cries (figuratively) when it happens.

what pisses me off is the war with 7 stance/heal skills. at a certain point, it becomes overkill.

i came across this build and found it to be pretty brilliant.

triple chop, cyclone axe, tiger's fury, executioner's strike, doylak, penetrating attack, rez sig, dismember.

aggro, doylak, spam aoe attack skills.

I think for a good tank you need to take some form of disrupt. I myself prefer disrupting chop. It is very helpful on necros and rits using flesh of my flesh. Other than that I agree with everything you said. Should help out some newer players.

While there is good advice for warriors in this thread, the problem a good warrior faces most often is caster classes that play like leeroy jenkins. I would be a rich man if I had half a cent for all the times I see eles and ritualists run in right next to the warriors when engaging a mob. Of course after they do their stupid spells that reset enemy aggro [firestorm etc] they rush back to the monk leading a trail of enemies and the warriors gets blamed for being a stupid wammo. Please.

I would drop dolyak signet for distracting blow and try to fit in rush or sprint by dropping either penetrating or dismember. But yeah, with a zealous axe tiger's fury + cyclone axe + triple chop + executioners + 16 = lots of dead stuff fast. Warrior is the only class that I find bearable to play with 7 henchmen in Factions PvE. Why? Because I can kill everything before the hench monk's energy becomes an issue. When I play monk in Factions PvE even with 2 or 3 energy management skills, it is grindingly slow because the henchmen damage is just so bad. I swear the warrior henchmen have 10 in their weapon attribute (which is still one or two points higher than your average nub wammo), so it takes forever to get anywhere.

Correction, Frenzy should be used sensibly in PvE.

Exactly. Just because some people use it badly, doesn't mean it shouldn't be used!
