Me and my team of henchies had a +4 morale boost and it was only Kurvie and his 2 dragon minions! We died in less than 10 seconds... And than i was hoping for a respawn and it said my party was defeated and to please return to outpost! Oh well, I'll never try to fight that guy again with henchies....

Snapjaw Windshell...first time I got surprised, next time I understood it wasn't him that killed my party, third time ignored him and took his fellows down. killing him then was a piece of cake

The Elemental's Construct (who has Mirror of Ice), use it against me. And I take like 180 damage or so (I have 60 AL).
That means he has 32 point in Water Magic

And one more, there's a mesmer boss. He use shatter Enchantment on me, and I take a full 200 damage. He must have 30 point in Domination....

I've never had any trouble with him, nor have I ever really had any trouble with any of the bosses particularly. Yes you might die a few times but they're not as hard as everyone makes out. I done pretty much all of the game with henchies as I'm too lazy and impatient to wait for a group and I have experts/masters on most of my missions. You just need to play the game patiently and actually consider your skillbar.

I think that instead of crying about the damage bosses do now you should all accept it as a challenge from A Net......I truely like the fact that bosses are harder these days it seemed like the only challenge in Prophicys Was the undead lich and even then it wasnt that hard......I havent beaten factions yet (got it for my 16th Birthday =)) But really just take the time to toss it in A Nets Face that we can still smash their bosses.....

A simple explanation to the OP comment is simple dev lazyness.

Cantha is a smaller more dense map:

-Locked gates and Fed Ex quest to artifically lengthen the game.
-Bosses that drops greens close to towns in explorable area are super enchaned to prevent over farming of their green items.

I hate it when players cheat in game, but i hate it more when the system cheats against players to make up for the flaws of the system.

Yea, the bosses in Factions are pretty crazy. I don't mind them having more att. points and dealing more damage because they tend to be higher levels compared to us (Capped at 20). But the fast casting of all spells (Heal Sig, HUH?) and Infinite Energy is a joke.

Make them buff...I agree
Make them smart...I agree
Make them act and play like a us so we can train a bit for PvP...I agree
But don't make them have both Energy Storage attribute AND Fast Casting.

Well, i remember getting hit for an arc lightning from a boss for 280 dmg. Well i can say that my team went down pretty fast. The henchman just follow me everywhere, the casters don't spread out and we all get hit by chain lightnings and stuff like that.
The elementalist bosses are just way too powerfull. I have to pack up ward against elements on my ele all the time to protect my teams casters if we face an ele boss.

Had the same problem with a Rit boss, hit me for a instant 330 dmg Channelled Strike, and I agree about ele bosses, the one in Ferndale incinerated the henchies in about 4 seconds, and the comment about Fast Casting is very true, I play a Mes with maxxed out Fast Casting and I wish I could cast as fast as the regular mobs sometimes let alone bosses.

Well I went out to try and cap charge today that elite skill that allows you +25% speed whilst not effecting stances.

OK so I found it on the map and took me about 3 mins to sight the boss.

Sunreach Warmaker is his name and he wields a hammer and has some really nasty KD moves.

Well fine I figured I'd try lure them out and take a few of the adds down one at a time, nope all my hench die we can't kill a single one of the guys sorrounding him and I rage quit thinking he can keep his damn charge. : /

Mind you his mobs consisted of 2 x spirit , 2 x Earth ele's, 2x forest warden(hammer warriors) and another type forget them now. There just seemed no way to get a look in at killing him , like his adds had all their bases covered.

'k, this boss can be a pain, but only reaching him. when you killed the groups around him, you just run in, run around some bit, wait until the eles used their AoE spell (churning earth or something :/), then take them out, the rits after, the normal warriors that are a joke last and the warrior for the end. the hench should be totally able to take care of that. but i suggest killing another boss that has it, the 1 in jade sea are way easier >_> (gyala explo, just evade some groups and you can reach him by killing 1-2 enemie groups, or the one in unwaking, just die, you get rezzed, kill 3-4 easy groups and youll find him in a weak group of outcast peeps)

the ele bosses are by far the most annoying one. the one in ferndale somehow killed me instantly on the first try (well, to be precise; he killed the whole group with a fireball...which isnt really possible)

the dragon dude in unwaking waters was mean as well, but that somehow wasnt a problem to kill. just make sure not to stay at one place, and hope that they all wont ride at your direction =P

the one in cavalon was probably the worst one...i and the hench are half dead when crossing the spiked stuff, then he somehow attacks me without me aggrong him, so after like 15 times of death penaltys, i had an idea which actually worked :P hench were casters only, aurora and daimien (?), and i played the tanker. prot spells + mist form. worked good, no instant death for the group, and they killed him from a safe distance.

tho, i have to say, i love them being stronger, gives you a nice challenge with henchman. when i go do some missions in tyria now, its pretty impressive how weak they are rofl! just hilarious -.- you get bored so easily :P

In that are with sunreach are 4 different bosses. One is right next to sunreach.
Me and couple of my friends used to farm there. We took all of them out preety easy, all you've got to do is agro them well. in no time you'll separate minions and boss, and then it's a piece of cake.

But i had problems with that dredge with shove. With that two healers, there is just NO WAY you can kill them.
Dredge gardeners are IMO the most anoying mobs i can think of! Nobody can heal THAT fast

Oh the guy with shove in ferndale, I found- rather stumbled on a way to easily take him out. When I was doing that Black Moa quest I started from the town past the Heltzar and worked my way back there. Well when I came to him from behind the area where the bugs and stuff are he killed me almost instantly with his kronies. So 2nd time round I ran thru them all and as I crossed to the other side the bug guys aggroed him and killed them all gardners as well. =)

Oh, Mokone I tried a few different things to take the sunreach guy down but sadly he's the only one I can get at atm. I havent completed Waking waters yet so dont have that as an explorable region and likewise for the hatchery. I have got prophercies now but not too sure where the boss for charge is to cap it there.

I'll try those suggestions and maybe get him down sometime, I'm open to changing my 2nd proff if I need to as well.

Everytime I think about this topic, I remember them saying that they COULD make henchie AI so smart, that it would completely outclass players in every category- perfect response to any situation, and much faster than any human can make and act upon decisions.

I'm disappointed that instead of making boss mobs much smarter and slightly more powerful, they just doubled their damage. It feels like a cheap shortcut by the designers, a way to make bosses harder without actually changing the way they act.

Boss mobs should be tough, should require planning and a ecent strategy. Making the ritualist mob Orosen, tranquil Acolyte into someone capable of killing party members in a few seconds each isn't challenging, it's just annoying. Orosen and Kenshi Steelhand are my best examples of why this double-damage was bad. My current joke with friends is that assassin bosses can kill everything in a 5-mile radius and never lose health. Too bad Panaku isn't half as smart as Kenshi is.

I managed to take down Kurvie Firewing with Henchies. That is in NO WAY to say that he is easy - I completely agree with you that he is way to harsh. It took me over one and a half hours to cap him, after an hour I had to go back to the outpost since I had a 60% dp, and started again. I feel what makes him harder is:

a) the fact that when he spots you so have NO TIME to prepare yourself - he's onto you, pummelling the hell out of you due to his elite spell.
b) the sheer volume of Onis which spawn around him when you get anywhere hear him, like his own personal bodyguards.

I feel Wavecrest Stonebreak (in Rhea's Crater) is way overpowered also. His cronies are easy to take down, but Wavecrest simply will not just SIT DOWN. Me and a friend tried just exploring the crater with 6 henchies. We killed Wavecrest's buddies, Wavecrest killed our Henchies, we backed off, and Wavecrest dondered on on his merry way, without a care in the world.

I've capped a bunch in Cantha and the two bosses that stand out are:

1) Kurvie Firewing. It is the combo of location (spiral all the way out through Unwaking Waters Explorable, killing mobs on the way), surrounding patrols (creeping carps, onis, kraken spawn - not too bad but it is a good idea to wipe them out beforehand), surrounding allies (4 or 5 other saltspray dragons) and of course damage output. If several saltsprays all ride the lightning and then follow up with inferno/lightning touch/breath of fire, it just roasts the party.

Capping Firewing was bearable on my ranger due to good armor against elemental plus interrupts, and on my mesmer due to AoE interrupts and backfire. It still hurt bigtime though.

2) Xiriss Stickleback. Surrounded by bunches of naga, and has a huge 250+ damage deathly swarm. Fortunately that casts slow enough to be reliably interrupted. And unlike Firewing he doesn't have 4 or 5 other high level necros with him, seems like a standard naga patrol.

Firewing is the toughest IMO, Xiriss and the others are all a few levels below Firewing in difficulty. It's the surrounding allies, Firewing has 4/5 more lower level clones. Imagine the ele boss in Tahnnakai Temple with 4/5 other Star Burst afflicted elementalists with him.
