Default reaper of the ice wasts: the ice king quest

So, I once read that crystalline sword get dropped in UW, and as all ppl here, I want one ^^ so I read it was in some sort of ice king quest, went to wiki, and found it. Here's what it says:

Defend the Ice King while he summons new Ice Elementals.

Protect the Reaper of Ice.

Return to the Reaper of the Ice Wastes for your reward.

and the walktrough:

Once you activate this quest Terror Web Dryders will spawn northeast. The wave will consist of six Terrorweb Dryders which will then break up into two smaller groups of three each. One small group will head towards the Ice King while the other heads toward the Reaper of the Ice Wastes.

The Ice King has four Level 28 Ice Elementals to assist, but they will fall quickly to the spiders dangerous fire spells.
There are four waves of six Terrorweb Dryders total in this quest! Make sure your team is knowledgable and prepared before taking this quest, as it is one of the most difficult in the Underworld.

You will have a minute or two to complete each wave of spiders, if you do not dispatch of them quickly the next wave WILL approach and you can quite easily be overwhelmed.

now, can this be done 55 + ss ? if so, could somebody tell me how, cause I don't think this would be easy for the 55, since sb will never last long ...
a video would be nice, if possible

thanks !

It can be done with 55hp and SS necro:

And my necro partner got a purple crystalline from the chest that spawns after completion:

Eh just to add more detail...

Monk uses Spell breaker, and then waits about 5-6 seconds (standing at the dryder spawn point). They then get prot spirit up and the necro takes the quest.

The monk should walk back slightly to draw the terrorwebs after him (to casting range). This will clump some of the terrors together. Then run forward so the necro won't get hit by things targetting you.

Necro comes up, demolishes the terrorwebs that are close together.

Second wave spawns, monk uses the recharged SB to stop meteor showers, and doesn't move. Necro continues their work.

Third spawn, monk uses SB again, and so on, till all dryders dead.

Just stand at the spawning point, preventing them to run off, have the necro spam ss from a safe location, and don't stand in the showers

The trouble is, there aren't many monks willing or able to do it. My guildy and I have done it lots of times and have seen ony one crystalline so whether its worth it is debatable.

Uh.. if any 55s on America can do this quest I've got a ss necro and know how

It's really not hard, as long as you use SB to block the meteor showers you're halfway done.

Oke, we tried it, and got quite far ! We did the normal run, than the chamber, and then we did the quest...everything went fine in the beginning, I think we lasted 3 mins...than I got overwelmed !

we tried another run, but the ss died, and we lost favor, as soon as we have favor again , we'll do another run ( and I just see we need to win one more time )

yeah, the trick is to get them all as closely balled up as possible and kill quickly

if you have a necro, I'll do a run with you

succes

Usually don't even have to "get them to ball up" Just standing at their spawn point with the necro far enough back to not get any agro from new spawns will be fine.

The terrorwebs don't run off if the monk is in the spawn point.

Also the quest is a little bugged (?) right now in that after you kill the initial spawn, you can actually get the reward from the reaper. Then at least one to two more spawns will show.

Um the only reason i do SS in UW is to get survivor title on my second account. We do this quest everytime im in the UW. Also i suck at it btw but my 55 is crazy and rly rly good. You just camp at there spawn point. Sometimes 55 tells me to move and i do, cause i just listen to him the whole time. The quest seems rly easy to do plus the 10k XP and chest at the end of it. Its also alot faster to get a spider this way IMO. We are also on vent which helps because he can tell me what to do. So with a awesome 55 and a noob SS this quest seem rly rly easy.

I've done this a few times with my SS-nec and a fellow 55-monk guildy. The easiest way to start is to have the monk wait at the Dryder spawn point and call out using Spell Breaker. The SS nec casts AtB, Arcane Echo, then starts the quest and runs down towards the monk, remaining outside dryder agro radius. SS + Reckless Haste = very fast dryder kills. The monk just has to strafe-dodge once SB runs out. It's much easier to just spread out SS + RH while waiting for AE to recharge.
