Look at it this way, atleast in factions you're not forced to play a specific build except early on in the game and even then, there are skill trainers around with pretty much everything. Goto Prophecies and try to make an earth ele in presear

I feel theres nothing really content wise in Factions for PvE players compared to Prophecies, it's pretty obvious it's PvP orientated by the fact that the skills are now nerfed due to the whingers in PvP, with not enough brains to come up with a counter - can see Touch Rangers next due to the cry babies.

MM's another one because PvP players whinged about them being overpowered during the FPE, now I daresay I'll prob get the PvP Police on my case but seriously if MM's were "so overpowered" before, dont you think they would have been hit with the nerf bat months ago instead right on the release of Factions?

I partly agree, it seemed that Factions didn't keep me interested as long as Prophecies did. But you've got to set yourself goals, I recently got the Drunkard title, I did spend 1000 minutes drunk. In that time I could set myself another goal, so setting yourself goals will keep you interested in Factions and Prophecies.

I think half of those titles are stupid and they didnt really think about them, I mean come on A-Net having to wall hug areas you've already been to in case you missed .0000000000000001% is not exactly exploring and shouldnt rely on having to use Necro teleport skills in some cases either, and the biggest /DOH! of all is putting a title in that you need more skills than whats currently available in both games to complete.

Well DUH. How can Factions not be boring for us Propheciesers.

A good tip is always do something else while playing Factions, from talking on the phone to your GF to reading a book.

It's the only way to keep your mind from telling yourself : Why the hell am I playing this crap?!

My concerns about GW (Just PvE side):

One thing is that new chapters are stand-alone games.
So there are basically no advancing for the old chars except new quests & skills. With level cap 20 and items staying same, I don't see how Anet could add even more epic level PvE to the game than i.e elite missions if they decide keeping character advancing stopped...

GW isn't about grinding levels and getting just some über items, I know, but because new skills have to be balanced with old ones, how can gameplay experience advance if even skills don't become so much different with each chapter. And roleplaying games are pretty much about advancing your characters, make them look unique just like you want, explore vast new lands and experience even more greater dangers.

That is the my main concern, how to keep old players happy with basically same weapon & item stats & quest difficulty...It can easily turn to feel like playing Prophecies with just new skin.

I'm guessing that this is when PvE players are supposed to say, "Well, I gues I'll try PvP now".....
No thanks.

I played Prophecies for a year without getting bored too often. I played factions for a weekend and was getting bored before i finished the game.

Heh, maybe I was just sick of Guild Wars and I didn't realize it until Factions came out. The thing that puzzles me is, the thought of playing Prophecies through again in a few months or hopping on and seeing what's up doesn't make me wince the way thinking of Factions does.

I couldn't even get 2 PvE characters through the game (as opposed to the 5 I brought through Prophecies)......and I'm the type who can jump right back into a game I like after i beat it, start over, and have more fun doing things I didn't do the first time.

Hell, I never got to explore the Luxon side of the map and probably never will

If GW could separate PvP & PvE side from each other even a little tiny tiny bit, PvE would be more interesting because then skill balancing wouldn't be so strict & designers could invent new kinds of items & skills more freely without considering how it affects to the PvP world.

Well, for me, i am really a little bit bored at the moment. But the good things are:

First, i got WoW and BF2, i can play three games for the holiday

Second, i got some new ways to farm in factions using my monk, warrior.

Third, i will try to get some new things to do since i have been only in guild wars for 6 months.

Cool

I haven't got factions yet, but I will be very soon...

Just a few comments:

GW is about skill. If you find something hard, its not the game thats bad, its your skill level.

Personally I HATE farming, its the worst thing about GW imho.

The alliance territory thing in factions really made me want to get this, since GW prophecies came out I wanted a guild territory that you could fight over, this is pretty darn close.

I'm 2 weeks into Factions, and still haven't made it off Shing Jea Island with my first character (Rit/E).

Then again, I'm soloing everything without henchmen, and having an absolute blast doing so. And not one second of farming to this point (although I already have over 10K by just playing the game).

It all depends on how you play the game. You join max groups, rush through PvE, and then complain about there not being enough content worth your $50 bucks...well, then it's a product of how you played the game.

I have to say that I'm slowly earning every penny of the $30 I shelled out. The storyline is even intriguing me (although the cinematics have a lot to be desired).

You're joking, Urgoz Warren takes so long most people leave through boredom.

@arseface, sorry to burst your bubble, but the only way you get territory for your Alliance is through Farming Faction to the tune of a quite a few million now.

@Jackie, I agree with you 100% that they should be seperated, as PvP players moan about having to PvE to unlock skills etc, and PvE players moan about nerfs being done to balance PvP so it's a no win situation, and I very much doubt if A-Net will change it or open their eyes to the fact the Game's going to end up going down the toilet if the current trend regarding nerfs continues as it'll get to the point where no one will be "allowed" to have a build in case it upsets some cry baby (oh noes a Touch Ranger - A-Net Plz nerf!!!111)who cant come up with a counter so people will look elsewhere.

Factions PvE is a chore, Prophecies PvE a holiday....

They're both interesting, but I have to drag myself through factions, ( I'm gonna hate to take all my CH1 chars through it ) in order to cheaply unlock skills...

I love factions.. It's much more fast and fun in my opinion.. in 5-6 hours i can get a charr level 20 and have all the fun with it... in prophecies i had to wait ages to have full fun with my charrs. Just my opinion, I preffer factions.. and the Missions for faction and the Deep are amazing!

i think that having a guild that u like changes the whole game, it becomes alot more fun than if ur just doin everything on your own.

Well, I have to disagree with this. At least if you are talking about 8 henchies on the Local Quarter. Anytime I have done this mission from Foreign Quarter and the other team is all henches, all the mobs are dead or close to dead by the time we get there. However, it's a big difference if it is 7 henches and 1 human. Most of the time in this case, Togo is dead before our team even gets to the second mob. Big difference.

As I have done this from both sides, I can say the key to keeping Togo alive with one human and 7 henches is to just stay by Togo and call targets of anything that goes near him. Then you will be just fine when the Foreign Quarter team gets to you.
