Default Getting rid of a heroe's pet

This is a rather stupid question but anyone knows if you can get rid of a pet your heroe has charmed? When I talk to the tamer dude he only offers me to take my own pet, but not my heroes' pet.

He wants to get rid of his hero's pet so he can charm a new one. Either he doesn't like the evolution it received or maybe he just wants a different type of pet -- but either way just removing the charm animal skill doesn't solve his problem.

^ Yup exactly. I've also tried to make the heroe use charm animal on another pet (while he already has one), and it doesnt work either: it just bugs the heroe and prevents him from using skills as he can't use charm. So unless there is a special NPC for heroes pets, I guess you can't.
