Default Gates of madness...

Never gonna finish it, I tried all the tips shown here, but failed. Shiro seems to transfer condititions, even though none of his skills descriptions say they can transfer.

Impossible Odds transfers conditions. Yes, it's lame.

What "Tips"?

Just bring your run of the mill balanced team - Dont be fooled into changing your build styles just because of 1 boss.

I do suggest Wild Blow, but thats about all I'd say change from the normal.

Then at Shiro, just Flag your henchies and heros in a way where IO doesn't pwn you. If you want to make it ALITTLE easier, then make YOUR elite SPoil Victor (go /ne) and slap it on him at the end, DONT WASTE A HERO SLOT ON A SPOIL NECRO THOUGH. Its NOT needed at all.

People make the mission harder than it has to be because they lose once or twice and start taking suggestions from people trying stuff they arent used too instead of just learning how to deal with the mission using your own familar skills and such.

He needs nurfed. Just look at all the complaints. Locked threads and flame wars over one boss...lol

Yeah he is easy.....what ever.

People routinely beat him with heroes and henchmen. Clearly, he's not as hard as all of you make him out to be.

I beat him with a friend and the rest heros.

But I tried with full pug many many many times. I tried with all heros, all henchies, partial hero henchies. I tried and I tried. I used stances. I drew agro and held him off my casters. Which may work if done just right. I changed builds to include degen which isn't enough. I changed my hero's builds. I tried getting the blessing of the 5 other gods and I tried it without.

Spoil Victor is what killed him for me. That and agro'n him to the temple door and keeping everyone out of his reach by flagging them too far outside the door but not too far to fight him. I got down to almost dieing and my friend triggered Spoil Victor. Then it was all over! The nightmares ended.

I say it should be nurfed but not by much. The challenge was fun for a few days. Then I didn't want to play anymore. I like to game. What is the point in playing if you are not having fun?

Your post suggests that Spoil Victor alone will beat him. If that's the case, the mission is actually *too easy*, don't you think?

Most people seem to define difficulty as "how hard it is to do something without any thinking or skill", and it's ridiculously stupid.

Interrupt Impossible Odds. My group kept doing that and it was bye bye Shiro. A couple of Impossible Odds got through but we just backed off for the moment.

Bring a warrior or two.

DO NOT bring an MM.

Kill the lich first then get the bonus for buffs.

Have warrio(s) tank Shiro with gladiators defense, doyloks, and make sure to have them use wildblow like Former ruling said, if you dont interrupt.

He's easy if you can just let the warriors tank him.

Great Conflagration/Winter + Spinal Shivers seemed to work for me.

Spoil Victor FTW

Poor Shiro....soppy sod never learns

And as Arkis says, dont take a MM and not on the last mission either - even though I've seen quite a few "MM LFG" on it who wont listen

Spoil Victor on a necro, Wild Blow for Battle Scars, Gladiators defense for my tanks along with "Watch Yourself!", Dolyaks Signet, Bonetti's Defense, Wayward Stance, Healing Breeze.

And just because Spoil Victor was what finished him doesn't mean it was easy. My group still had death penalty and it worked after several attempts not the first try. We had to learn what to do, because at the time this and any forum along with the Wiki wasn't helpful.

It took my friend and myself days to complete, this one mission. We both work 45-50 hours a week and have families and lives to live, we can't just play this game 18 hours straight.

And honestly most of the advice being given now is rather vague and tenebrous. There are just now a few suggestions being posted that actually agree with one another. Stay spread out.

Every Guild Wars forum on the net, that has decent traffic, has a thread about this mission complaining that it needs nurfed. Everytime I have logged into the Gate of Madness outpost I can read people's complaints. There has been flame wars and locked threads on this exact same topic in this forum. And to this day we are still getting complaints and new threads over this so called "easy" mission.

There is nothing anyone is going to say or type that I wont have a rebuttal for. The only ones that argue, are the few who got lucky and completed it without 30 attempts and there are only a hand full of those. I don't see anyone in the outpost trying to help others either. I have tried everyone's advice and researched this mission for days and days. I tried 30 different builds and many many different groups. This mission needs nurfed by a small fraction.

When it ceases to be fun anymore then it, well it's not fun...

I am just glad it's over for me.

Somebody play the violin...
