Yeah i went to the crystal overlook with a guildy that was capping and earning sunspear points for bounties and I kept earning them to even though i didn't have the bounty. Not sure if it was a glitch or not and i didn't notice any point gain until afterward, when i was to tired to try it again. Either way I'm over halfway to 9 and I still have about 1k in quests to complete.

oh in certain areas blessings for a team member works for u even if u are a castellan.
your big secret... it seems all u achieved with your big secret is to find a way to waste hours and hours thinking to reach an elite title noone else could do

so what. u did 7500 points in the same exhausting run while other ppl with hit 15000 playing the game with no grind?

I am pretty sure you spend more time getting your title than kry...
You can also get max chesthunter by playing through the game, though u did that in a huge month-long grind.

on topic: i heard that gaile said something about elite missions being linked to sunspear rank. I have been searching but havent found the topic. Can some1 plz confirm this?

And i deserve such twattyness why? Was i bragging about the title? No. And im sorry, grind? 2-3 hours of having a laugh on vent, going afk for food/drink every now and again coming back and continuing is not grind.
And we didnt do it to gain the title and be 'elite', no, we wanted it to see if we could progress to the elite mission after maxing it.

Your egotistical crap is getting old BG, especially coming from someone who's grinded titles much more so than anyone else I know in the game. Very hypocritical.

Yeah thats 3 hours of farming I'd rather spend getting skill caps, mapping, doing quests with as well as earning the points.

good for you, id rather spend them farming something that might lead me to the elite mission, and there i can farm...
Also people spend ages farming trolls and UW for FoW armor, you telling me 3 hours semi-playing is too much of a grind?

Oh no, I'm not trolling here or saying what you did was stoopid. I was saying that i was capping and mapping and doing quests while i was still earning points (although unoticed). I think it's cool you guys figured out a way to cap sunspear when everyone else was running around trying to figure it out. I'm just saying i did noticed i earned points even though i couldn't get the bounties.

If you go to Gate of the Nightfallen Lands and press "U" you can see a portal to the east that you can't get to. Perhaps this is it?

I've also been looking for the elite mission in Nightfall.
I figured I'd throw out some observations and guesses about it here, hopefully to add to the knowledge and maybe help solve this.

Observations:
1. In Abaddon's Gate if you look to the southwest you can see the Sunspear Great Hall, in a 'Nightfallen' state. I haven't heard or found anything about a Nightfallen Plains of Jarin.
2. In Ruins of Morah, Remains of Sahlahja and Gates of Desolation the ascension pilgrims say 'The mists are not as distant as we were led to believe'. Nowhere else where you can find ascension pilgrims do they say this.

Guesses:
1. The elite mission takes place in the mists.
2. Probably accessible from desolation/wastes area.
3. The closed gate in Abaddon's Gate leads to the end-game area.
4. The elite mission has something to do with the corsairs. Several NPC's in Istan talk about what's next, and/or worry about the corsairs now that you've saved Elona from Nightfall.

Hope this helps or jogs someones memory who will share the info.

Not sure why you are saying it has something to do with the corsairs, maybe you can enlighten us on that one.

I'd also add that it more then likely follows a questing path. I'd go back to each area and find the quests that are available. Doing this even if you think it's not an area that would contain what your looking for (maybe even noob island *istan*). I've gone back to several quests and one in crystal overlook, that had a continuing questlines, some even 3 or 4 that lead to a master series of quests.

What zone is a good zone to max out the Sunspear title? I'm just curious how long it would actually take to get the max level title considering how dull that must get? :X

Edit: I also have Protector of Elona and I can't find anything new so I'm 99% sure it's not that either. :X

The Sulfurous Wastes is the best place I can think of, I got well over 400 over rank 8 in there, but I assumed I would be able to find enough quests to gain up to rank 9 so I'm not sure if I have enough. When you're fighting do so slowly to let the monks/paragons res.

I'd go for the title with the wurms. It's easy to kill a mad amount in a very short time. There is also a new 135 monk build and if you're lucky enough to have a monk, you could most likely do the monk res thing with a guildie that can still get bounties and you could just solo the mobs and the monks res the fallen.
