Yes it is explorable and counts towards cartography. There are two gates to the fortress. I am not sure what you have to do to get inside but I do know that currently i have 100% grandmaster cart, Protector of Elona, and all the quests done and I still cant get through the gate from Jahai Bluffs. However a friend of mine says the gate at Yatendi Canyons opened for him...so i'd check there first. It also requires a lot loss fighting to get to that one.

I'm fairly sure that the fortress is just named on the map like the palaces of the princes are. They are not their own explorable areas, just a point of interest.

I also have 100% and explored both ways, from Jahai Bluffs and from Yetendi Canyons, both sides have a closed door and don't seems to have nothing inside. The maps i saw from the zone don't have more than i have, so i guess is not possible to cross the fortress ><

No, it is definatly possible to get inside. I just have no idea what one has to do to trigger it. I'm going to attempt starting from Canyons. I'll report my findings in a bit.

Is this the same Fortress on Noob Island? If so, then yes, its a city quest. You get to it by talking to someone in one of the other cities.

If this is not the city quest I'm thinking of, then never mind. I'm still on Noob Island and I'm at some city (I think its a fortress).

It's not Pick Me.

I was also having problems getting into the fortress in the zone where you get the banana scythe. I guess I have to get in there from leaving from Maddox Crevice corect?

^ This is the fortress next to Jahai Bluffs that is swarming with Kourons.

But yes, to get into the fortress you are talking about you have to leave Moddock Crevice (if you took Magrid).

Starting out from Chantry of Secrets down to the fortress I can make it past a few gates untill I reach this one. Spinning the camera around to look at the opposite side of the gate shows a portal there. This place is definitly not just for decoration. I have no clue how my friend got in there, perhaps it varies on favor or on heros or what have you.

I think it is part of a quest somewhere in the game. Not sure which. This is what someone else told me. He told me his friend had been there.

My friend had made it just as far as me, so he didn't actually enter the building I later found out. Regardless, there must still be a way to enter.

Watch them make this be either part of the bonus pack or the elite mission. If it is, you know for sure they intended to include the elite mission during launch if they had met the deadlines. :]
