Default Easy solo farming in Nightfall? Idea

I just noticed while capping Golden Skull Strike that... whenever an enemy uses call to torment then the new monster will be independant from the creator.
Heres an idea, Pull a mob and weaken 1 monster so that it at least creates a clone (away from the original placement of the mob) so that when you come back it won't pull the big mob. Why? So you can take on a torment monster 1 on 1, and make it spawn another one before you kill it

Would you be able to farm Sunspear points this way?

I'm thinking yes as ressurected monsters still give you points so I don't see why clones would not.
