Wrong; I solo tanked him on my dervish.

My friend did it like this in one try. We got lucky and interrupted his cast of IO, but that's not a viable solution.

I did it with all henchies, me being warrior.
Just take bonetti and defensive stance and max out tactics.
Bonetti alone should be enough.
You just tank Shiro while the rest of your henchies kill him.
This mission is too easy to even discuss here...

Postition henchies back, get aggro and dont move.
Shiro drops and cuttscene starts

I may have got lucky that he didnt break off onto someone else.

Seriously this missions isn't that hard when you actually put effort into making your warrior run into the arggo while the other henches just lay back and fire at them. That's the tactic i used throughout the whole mission, even the shiro part where i pulled him back from the lich to tank him alone. What i think it is, is that this mission is not hard but harder than what people are used to ever since factions. But if you compare this misison to the last mission in prophices its nothing.

If you ask me, this should be the difficulty of most of the PvE areas sans the beginner/training areas. This is what really made Nightfall stand out to me - it had the first truly interesting/challenging section since my original trip through the Ring of Fire. No, it's not nigh-impossible, but it makes you think outside the box (as evidenced by all the advice given here).

Thinking outside the box FTW.

In all honesty, I had more trouble capping Order of Undeath and Hex-Eater Vortex (DAMN YOU 10+ Monster mobs!).

I did it too now and i honestly don't think it needs a nerf. I got mission + bonus at the second try. I was lucky with a good group and i was kinda sweating, but we managed to get thru. I really love the challenge of the NF missions, i beat all ring of fire missions with groups consisting of 6 people so that could have been a little harder too IMO. this is worthwile of giving it another try with my other characters...

One thing I didn't see mentioned is that all hexes, and conditions drop off shiro when he uses impossible odds (doesn't just spread). So just wait to reapply blind, spoil ect after he uses that.

Also, if shiro is the hangup of this mission, go practice in imperial sanctum with henches and your heros. Just dont use celestial skills. If you can beat him there, you should have no problem here.

Anet toned shiro down quite a bit for this mission, so be greatful for that. He won't use banish or meditation.
While impossible odds are up, every attempted hit shiro does transfers all conditions on him to all nearby foes. Blind doesn't last 2 seconds. Hexes have half duration so they still stick.

Tried. Didn't work. He loose it too fast. Blinding Flash is worthless against Shiro.

I finished this mission on third attempt with

D/W Random guy he brought Balth + wild blow
N/Me Olias SS necro
N/Me Master of whispers Spoil Victor + empathy + Diversion
Mo/Me Talkhora Prot monk
Mo/Me Dunkoro Prot monk
Mo/Me Young Monk Healer monk
W/E Koss with wild blow
R Me Interrupter Ranger

Got to shiro + lich with 10% morale on all chars. Pwned lich, Activated all statues, went back to middle, pwned shiro in 2 minutes and no deaths. GG

Well, this mission is tough, but it's still not the toughest in the game. It's very beatable with several stratagies. We used a trapper, snared shiro, blinded/crippled him over and over killed the lich, capped shrines then killed shiro in under a minute. It's even henchable, although you do have to get pretty lucky shiro doesn't break off you and nuke the hench. yes it's harder, but no it doesn't need a nerf, people in general shouldn't just be able to breeze through the game.

try blurred vision, may not be as effective as blind, but atleast you can keep it up on him the whole time (with enough water magic)

works like a charm with price and spirit of failure.

This mission is easily henchable. I don't know why so many people are complaining about it. Just because you're too lazy to find the right combination of heroes/henchies to do it doesn't mean it's impossible and needs to be nerfed. The game is easy enough as is, and it'd just get even more boring if more people whine about missions being too hard for them.

i got it on my 2nd try with my monk but i'm having trouble with my warrior... guess i didn't bring wild blow.

If the casters want to know how why IMPOSSIBLE ODDS is impossible to heal through even with warriors high armor with watch yourself and dolyak signet?... its not that impossible odds does alot of dmg but you get hit like 15 times per second..

monks dont slap a prot spirit on warrior. ONLY THING THAT WILL SAVE YOU FROM IMPOSSIBLE ODDS IS HEALING SEED OR SHIELD OF ABSORBTION.

Okay this looks like whas to beat Shiro

My group had a MM and a SS and i was a ranger with a pet and no points in beastmatery. Why Zero points in beast matery? Well 10% hp of my pet when it ressed left a new coarspe quite often. And yes I did manage to interupt an Impossiple odds with savage shot.

I got lucky, I killed everyone but shiro until last, he killed almost all my henchies and heroes except two. I ordered them away and shiro start chasing after them but then he bugged and decided to stand there so I slowly killed him with a vampiric bow and poison arrow, took forever though lol

Victor Spoil made the difference for me.Did it with heroes and hench.Well did the whole game that way.Anyways I had Curse and MM nec and koss.Only brought one hench monk of the 4 hench.Koss kept him busy as I flagged the rest to the back and MM use VS.It worked really well. Thanks to those who posted that here.Didnt even have to use candy canes I brought with me..)

I got masters on this on my second try, the first try we didn't even get to shiro because we didn't have enough damage.

My strategy? We had our tanks, our ss necro, our crybaby dervish, me (incoming/stand your ground paragon), a human monk with a hero monk and a ranger IIRC. I stood there spamming all my spells while everyone dpsed shiro, we killed him first, went on to do bonus, then killed lich. Wasn't that hard...The hard part of the mission is getting INTO a group.
