Default quality of collectors' caster weapons

If you have visited the collectors, many have 15% damage on staves, -physical damage on focii.

If anything, are they encouraging meleemancers?

Personally I wonder whats going through ANets minds. I should be able to buy my 20/20 whatever collectors without problem in elona. Instead I end up seeing a staff with a 20% mod and 15% damage.

I'm liking the -dmg focii but I don't understand the +15% mods on the wands and staves. Luckily i've been getting very good drops, lots of 20,20,20 staffs etc...

can you add inscriptions onto the collector weapons? if so you could replace the 15% dmg mods with casting/recharge mods.

The update to add Inscriptions that on the most part are not biased towards what weapon you put them on is a double edge'ed sword.

Good: You can find valuable mods for your melee characters on Wands and Staves. 90% of my 15^50 inscription drops have been from Wands.

Bad (I call it Semi-bad really): With this update came many new choices for Staves and Wands -mods they couldn't have before- and These are represented at collectors. The old Casting Time, Recharge, etc are still avialable at collectors but are much more spread out and you have to filter through all the 15^in stace staves and such to find the collectors with them.

My only complaint is the endgame weapon-smith. In Factions he had a sought after rarer mod (+5energy) so at the time it is an easier place to get one. The Nightfall endgame weaponsmith has some cruddy mod on the weapons that drop a dime a dozen and you practically cant GIVE away, sort of cheapening the fact that there even is an endgame weaponsmith

On the other hand, there are +5 energy collector weapons now...

Thats true for Nightfall.

Anyway, I beleive them implementing recharge and casting 10% on melee weapons was supposed to make us all go "WoAhH I can destroy my Flame Spitter now!" like +5e made us go in Factions - Thus putting them at the endgame collector would have been smart.

But they didn't hit off with such a bang, and the mod itself is painfully simple to get, unlike how +5e was in Factions.
