Default Ancient Coffer?

So what is this thing, does it do anything, is it for anything? I searched the Wiki, the forums here and at GWOnline but to no avail.

It's right in front of Basalt Grotto, but I've only been there a couple times and the only time I seem to see it is when I go to the Grotto from Jennur's Horde, if I try leaving from the Grotto it isn't there.

Obviously I can't be the only person to have seen it since it's right there next to town.

I've tried clicking on it but nothing happens. There also appears to be a note or something inside.

Image might be large for some so I'll link to it:

Odd. I have seen that myself.

Must be part of a quest or a quest that was never added into the game.

Not really given it much thought.

It's part of a quest. It is functioning as it should.

I don't remember the name, but it's the third one in the quest line that starts with Data Mining (which requires Master of Whispers).
