Here's what you do. If you aren't necro primary, change your secondary to necro. Then bring the skill Necrotic Traversal.
Now you need to find a place where you can get down to Rurik's path.
The one I used is this: about the middle of the mission there are some ettins in a cave. (the cave also has dryders in it). Lure an ettin under a bridge in this cave, and make sure the ettin is underneath the bridge when it dies. Use your Necrotic Traversal and you should appear ON the bridge instead of under it. This bridge is linked to the path Rurik follows. You can take it back to the start, and all the way to the end.
There are other places too, but I couldn't get them to work. You can try:
- lure ice golem at the start to kill one of the men standing near Rurik (the ice golems could never kill them when I tried)
- lure a wolf somewhere and get it to die in the right place (quite hard imo)
I can't remember exactly, I think GuildWiki had some more info but it is always down.
Btw, this skill Necrotic Traversal is great for cartographers. You'll learn to love it. Guild Wars has a strange implementation of the z-axis, so using it on something killed under a bridge makes you appear on the bridge. Another place you can do this is the first mission of all. You can get to the path where the Charr chase you before triggering the chase, so you can uncover it without a time limit or Charr shooting you. Also, Necrotic Traversal is not limited to places you could walk to like assassin Shadow Steps are, so you can kill a creature on the other side of a wall or anywhere really that you can't get to, and teleport to it.
