Default Elite Skill hunter title - is it possible ?

Has anyone made elite skill hunter ?

I have every elite skill except ebon dust aura and the lightbringer elite sig yet my total is still only 289.

It's extra annoying because this would also give me kind of big deal title too

For info I collected the lightbringer elite sig after capping all the other 289 elites - but no luck, it didn't add to my total of elites.

The elite sig counted for mine but others have said it didnt count for them, don't know what to say about that.
Sorry to dissapoint but this title will NOT give you KoaBD since the next level is at 380 elites and Gaile has posted saying this title is never maxable. Do a search for her poll about splitting the title into campaign based titles.

There are many other threads about this, do a search or look thru the first couple of pages to find them, all of this has already been covered many times.

Thanks for the reply.

I have to say I am very disapointed. So much so that this may be the 'push' I need to give up on GW all togeather.

I am disapointed that having capped every possible elite skill I still do not even have the title due to me on skill hunter (i have 289 elites capped + the light bringer elite) but my title count is 289 and my title the same as someone who has 225 elites.

I am also disapointed that I spent so much time on this only to discover I can't reach 290 and even if I did I still wont get a maxed title to count for big deal title.

Feeling very upset and disapointed to be honest. I guess I could go and do Elonain map title - but I find those tedious in the extreme (esp with an ele) and the way I feel right now I may just give up on GW all togeather.

I saw titles as a valid way of keeping my interest up in playing the game - but to discover that you can cap every possible elite skill and still not get the title due to you , nor will it ever be maxable, well like I say its made me question the sanity and point of pursuing such titles within GW.

Sorry to be so negative but I worked hard to get at least elite title on skill hunter - I have done all that its possible to do and I still do not have the title I feel I earnt - yet apparently others do

Just not happy

Check out that poll that Thargor told you about. They are talking about making skill titles for each continent so you might end up with 3 maxed titles soon from your current skill hunter.

Just wait until Ebon Dust Aura is put in the game, cap it, and that should do it. Or am I missing something?

Ebon Dust Aura update.
Skill Hunter title poll.

I have Elite Skill Hunter; Lightbringer Signet counted for me. Sorry that you're disappointed with this, but Ebon Dust Aura will be out soon, then you should be able to get your title. I don't know if or when the skill hunting title will be changed but if it goes ahead it maybe in the pending December-ish large update.

Gaile has said that excluding that elite was an oversight and they're working to correct it. Hopefully you won't stop playing because of it.

Also, Elonian Grandmaster Cartographer is easier to get than the GMC titles of either Tyria or Cantha. You may not find it as hard or tedious as you think.

Again thanks for the reply.

I have already voted in the poll.

Yes I can just wait for ebon dust aura to appear, but the fact remains that currently having done the same work as others they have a new title level and I do not and that is not fair nor encouraging me to play.

I am aware that GMC title is less of a pain as I have a dervish with 98% - I stopped there to work on my ele. However I still find scraping pretty tedious.

I guess my malaise is a general one where I feel those of us who play GW the most and most intently appear to always be low on the priority list of fixing things. This missing elite and some getting the title and others not is one example. Another one was when factions came out the serveral week before my FOW - the most expensive armour in the game - was upgarded to be as good stats wise as the cheapest max armours in the game. Or now with NF once again my FOW armour is not as flexible or 'good' as much cheaper armours (I would like radiant on it - on any cheaper armour I could have radiant, but having worked so hard and paid so much for it I can not have radiant on it currently). It things like this that leave me feeling that those of us who play GW with a probably unhealty dedication are just not seen as a priority - prob n the basis that we can annoy them and they will still keep playing. Maybe thats unfair but right now thats how it feels.

So anyone interested in a GW account with proh/fact/nf 2 extra slots ele,rit and der all with fow and loads of other stuff ?

So,you are actually thinking of quiting GW because of a title that you can't get? Like being a quitter isn't bad enough, but after you invest so much time playing, haven't you learned anything about the game?

It's more than titles, and gold, and fame. What about the people you have met while playing? The things you have accomplished besides that 1 stinking title?

What about the fun of playing the game?

For once, I can say in total honesty... I am disgusted with your lack desire to be the best at what you have done. You are too willing to throw it all away,eh? Then jump...we don't need another title whiner anyway. What a waste...

Easy now.

At some point I will stop playing GW and no doubt so will you. The question is for me, is that time now.

I do not fell that being upset about having done the same work as others, yet them having a title and me not having it is unreasonable 'title whining' and I suspect that if you had experienced the same you too would feel disgruntled.

Yes there are more aspects to the game than just title hunting, but title hunting is the aspect that had for me created the motivation and desire to keep playing the game in a sustained way. That I have been rewarded for this by being denied a title that other have has clearly undermined this motivation for me - and again that to me seem pretty straight forward and understandable? Yes I have met intersting and nice people playing GW and some of those will remain friends long after I stop playing GW. I have also met some pretty stupid and obnoxious people playing the game too. However I alos meet people nice or not in the real world and for me 'meeting new people' is not a motivation for continuing to play GW. I am perfectly able to do so regardless of if I play GW or not.

I suggest that as far as GW players are a community , then what 'we do not need' any more of in such a community are people willing to aggresively jump on other players with critisims or complaints about the game in some kind of semi religious manner - the cult of GW first law thou shall not critise GW.

The specific issue is that I have done the work for a title yet do not have the title and others do. This may well be resolved soon and I hope it is. The wider issue , in my perception at least, is that Arena net take the most dedcated of players for granted to some degree - and this does not feel every nice. In analogy terms it feels to me like being a customer of a restuarant where I eat 3-4 times a week and seeing the staff and owners giving priority and fawning over new customers and largely ingoring me and my needs, on the basis that I will be there anyway and keep comming back regardless. Like I say this feeling may not be a reflection of reality and may well be a emontional response , but the feeling exits for me none the less and affects my decision as to weahter to carry on playng GW or to call it a day.

For the moment I have decided to carry on with GW (I am going for the lightbringer max title now to completye my big deal title as I just can not face edge scraping right now) - but these things add up. For me titles are one of the main drivers for my continued concerted play. For others this may not be true but for me it is. Working towards such a title to discover that having done the work, others have the title and I do not, feels unfair undermines my enjoyment of the game and ultimately along with other factors wil inform my decision on playing or not. If that is not understandable to you or you consider it unacceptable title whining then so be it.

Default don't give up yet!

don't give up yet!
It sounds like there is alot more game then you're playing.

Try going for legendary survivor on a new char. That has kept me very interested with playing my new paragon.

Go for legendary defender of ascalon. Pre-sear is fun!

Try figuring out the droks run. It's tough, but doable!

and don't forget PvP!!!! I'm still working on PvE and unlocking everything i can. But once that's done, the real fun begins. You can also gun for PvP titles (thought they are near impossible to max), but its neat being able to show you are a good faction donator (luxon/kurzick), that you are like russel crowe in random arena, and that you can emote some shiny gold bambi.

And then theres GvG, which is probably the best part of the game once you find a satisfying team to play with.

Done that at least to lvl1 of survivor

Not done that but its not really my cup of tea - dying to level up moster to get XP is too convulted for my tastes.

I have done some play with running - mainly the solo warrior ids run but again running is not really my cup of tea. I like to kill things not run away from them. Also my main anf first love charater wise is ele and running with eles is limited though not totaly impossible.

Again I have dabbled in pvp RA, TA, GvG and to lesser degree HA. I also have the first lvl friendship title for luxon. However pvp will never be my main focus f play whilst I am limited by my internet connection - which is a BB high latency 2 way say based connection. Because of my location this is the only BB avaliable to me currently and it means that I am just not competetive in pvp. In pve I can find ways round the inherent limits of my connection but in pvp much less so. I do play pvp but unless I get a low latency connection then I will always have limits on how competetive I can hope to be.

Anyway thanks for the reply. For now I am sticking with GW. I am working the lightbringer title currently which will give me big deal on my ele (have 3 protectors and 1 cart maxed atm). After that , if they split the skill hunter title I will no doubt work another cart title and sunspear (when that gets sorted) and go for 'people know me). So for the moment my 'incentives' to keep playing are there.

Since everything is resolved, I'm closing this thread for now. If you want to discuss the skill titles further, the thread that was posted earlier is a great place.

Glad you decided to stick with it!
