Default Run to Vabbi possible?

Is it possible to make a run to Vabbi starting from Sunspear Sanctuary? I know I won't be able to do the missions, but I need to cap some skills over there. If it's possible, what is the chain of areas I need to go through?

Im not entirely sure, your best off checking guildwiki tbh

But I'm pretty sure that the only way through without going through missions is through the fortress of jahai... Which is impossible

It's been a few weeks since I got to Vabbi, but as far as I know running is not possible. Getting to Vabbi involves a series of three missions starting with Kodonur Crossroads and ending with Bahdok Caverns ( I think Mohdok crevice is the middle one?) The gate into Kodonur is locked, and it is thus impossible to run through there. There are no "areas" in between as far as I remember, just missions.

Alternatively, you could theoretically get to the Desolation and run back through there (vehijin mines and what not takes you back to Vabbi), but I believe the gate there is locked as well.

My advice: just sit back and enjoy the campaign. You will spend a lot of time in Kourna (5-6 missions, plus the sunspear general rank quest, plus a bunch of primaries). Just chill and go through. Shouldn't take more than a week to get to Vabbi.

Yeah, thanks guys. I was just wondering because I did the nightfall campaign on two other characters and didn't feel like trudging through it again on another one. Oh well. And yes, that door is still locked on both ways, I tested it earlier :/

I tried too, but it's not possible. There are four ways to get to Vabbi...

1. Through Moddock mission, however you cannot gain access to it unless you've progressed to that point. Joining a party who can enter won't do any good, since they won't be able to if you're in the party.

2. Through the explorable zone that was Moddock. This also doesn't work, since you can't get to the zone to enter. It's blocked back around where the Draught would be [you can necrotic into the fort], and there are no enemies in the small corridor running from that blockage to the zone (so no necroticing). I even tried to necrotic / rebirth myself below the skybridge that runs across that corridor, but it didn't teleport me to the lower level.

3. Through Jahai, which people already have pointed out is locked up tight.

4. Through the desolation. I ran to the Gates of Desolation, but obviously that isnt the hard part. The hard part is the fact that the sulfur instantly kills you. You also can't hitch a ride on a wurm because (I read this somewhere, havent tried it so not 100% certain) no one can enter a wurm if anyone in the party can't.

Vabbi seems pretty locked up tight to me.

you maybe able to do it with a W/A

see the gate at the top of fortress jahai isnt the problem but it is the stairs that are unpassible

However you might be able to Deaths Charge/(or another assassin shadow step skill) to the ele boss people have mentioned as a way to bypass the stairs.

Just an idea

No running. You need to do primary quests to get past missions/locked gates and things. Capping avatar of grenth in the ward, had to do 3 tries because some idiot kept bringing the "save koss!" or whatever quest.

The fortress is a dead end, there are no portals between the Jahai Bluffs and Yatendi Canyons zones. As for the elementalist boss (Admiral Kantoh), he can be reached once the gate opens up at some point later in the game. You can get the same elite (Master of Magic) in the Consulate Docks mission, and from the beetle boss in Yatendi Canyons.

Anet made it a point to not have a direct path for Runners anymore. That started back in Factions. So for each expansion to GW, you'll have to play your way through.

You can't get from Jahai Bluffs directly to Yahtendi Canyons or vice versa.

My first time through Jahai Bluffs, running about with henchies, scraping edges, I tried it. "Oooh look at all the pretty red up there! Let's kill it Olias! I need the map anyway." It's quite possible to hench your way through all those Kournans (remember that henchie flags and pulling are your friends.) The last group we killed was, I think, a Kournan ele boss. Yep, we wiped out a couple times, but due only to my own impatience/inattention. You get to the top and there's this interesting building but no way in. (I was so miffed!)

Upon arriving at the Chantry of Secrets, my first order of business was to see if I could get in there from the north side. Again, even after killing everything there, one can't get in the fortress.

I've mapped and done every quest I can find in Kourna and Vabbi (working in Desolation now.) I haven't found anything that opens the doors of the fortress.

I find it irritating, since that looks like somewhere I wanna go see. But I think people are right - it's on purpose so you can't run through.

Alright heres the deal. Yes you can through the desolation if someone is in the party who cannot ride wurms. That party member(s) just needs to die and the "rusher" cant use the wurm spoors again (assuming there are no enemies nearby ofc).

Doing it this way you can get to remains of salahjah however the doors to bone palace and the tentacle doors to ruins of morah will be closed.

The thing I havent tested yet is wether you can enter ruins of morah/mouth of torment by taking the backpassage via lair of the forgotten->shattered ravines->ruptured heart.

But yea you can get to remains of salahjah without riding a wurm yourself.

Back ontopic, when i brought my sin through the game (since i couldnt get past salahjah woot) I noticed that there is no primary quest to get to moddok crevice you just end up there after doing a mish (forgot which one though).

So, wouldnt you be able to rush to moddok and just skip kourna completely?

ok I wasnt going to say this because I was not wanting to support Runners. BUT I do know of a way to get a run to Vabbi from Kourna via Desolation.

I'm already informed this Bug is being worked on so I don't know how long it will work, but in the interest of the general public not getting scammed for thousands on a run I am willing to tell this method.

It involves going through Gates of desolation with 1 player that can control Wurms.

All non-wurm controllers MUST go and DIE. walk out into the wastes or something OUTSIDE the range of the wurm rider.
This means Runners goes right Passengers go left to die.

Now the runner gets on his wurm once all the non riders die.

He runs to Remains and goes in. Party spawns in Remains of Sahlahja together. (Payment 1/2 point) (often the SCAM point as well for the easy 10K because the next part is very hard to run)

Zone out to the north into Joko's Domain.

Again Passengers go and die to the north, Runner goes to the spoor to the far north and becomes a wurm AFTER they all die.

Wurm skirt all the way around to the point where you can not go any further as a wurm. Fight the bugs and then get out of wurm. wait for best time to run up past the mob to other side. Get back in wurm and run up hill to shrine.
(Some runners could collect here if they wanted by respawning...)

Runner runs up to to Basealt Grotto. Goes in. (runner payment in full area)

From this point Anyone can get to Vabbi region even with Henchies in a few mins time. just follow the path to the east.
One could option to run rest of the way to Vabbi but not required. As from this point its open passage for anyone that wants to go.

Now there you go. I have already seen people charging 20K for this run and its insulting that it is being done in that way, SO I have openly revealed the method used in hopes of Anet nerfing this known bug, OR more appropriately putting a closed gate at Remains of Sahlahja entrance to prevent it from being used by scammers. But more importantly to inform more people of the route and method while it lasts so players are not exploited in this way.

[EDIT] Added Running Route Maps. {Run to Basealt Grotto takes about 15 mins, less if you know what your doing.}
Pt 1 Gates of Desolation to Remains of Sahlahja

Pt 2 Remains of Sahlahja to Basealt Grotto.

Not sure if you can if you have it unlocked but other party members don't, but I was out there (Ruptured Heart) last night without having done Morah yet, and there were tentacles blocking my way to the center where the mouth is.

Nope. There's no primary quest, but I don't think you can even get into moddok outpost before you've done the Poghan mission (or the Rilohn mission, I assume for the Whispers hero choice.) Even once I got in there after the Poghan mission, the doors into the explorable area were sealed until I finished the Moddok mission and came back. People have already said that characters who haven't done the mission in teams with other characters who have doesn't work to get you into the explorable area there. (Can't recall if they get booted out of the team or it blocks the whole party.)

I'm trying to do all the quests I can and uncover all the map possible in areas before I continue with the main storyline missions in each section. For most mission outposts, I've long since been there before I can do the mission. But once in there, I don't have the option to do the mission until I've finished the correct primary quests. Seems they've locked this up pretty well.

Being run to Vabbi may be possible to get gemmy armor earlier, but I've yet to spot any way the game will let you skip over any missions or primary quests except those involved with the fork(s) you didn't choose.

*Off ... well, tangent topic on*
I know there are some drawbacks to that, but for the most part I like it. Lovely benefits like
  • my non-main characters that just need elites usually need skill points, too
  • it must irk the bot farmers something awful (just think how mad the people with solo farmer characters will be when/if the elite mission opens up in chantry!!!)
  • less (pve) people with "yeah, I have all those skills" that really haven't ever played with the profession enough to get past the fairly basic challenges presented in the primary storyline
  • ...likely a lot more reasons it's a good thing
If there aren't already, I'm sure there will soon be a thriving new style of running business that rushes people through the more time-consuming primary quests and missions.
*Off ... well, tangent topic off*

You should be able to get through the desolation with worms and maybe even without. Heard that you can skirt around the edges and not die in the sulfur. It just takes a long time to do, hugging walls and going round the long way rather than a worm going direct across the sulfur. May check it myself later, but I just love being the worm. Siege worms FTW
