Thanks for the help everyone, I've started afk farming 5 minutes ago, I just reached rank 3!

I can afk for about 8 hours today, so I guess I'll be rank 5 at the end of the day.

Oh, and maybe someone should open a thread with a precise guide how to do this, because I went through alot of pages to figure it out ^^

After a few tries I finally got two groups, might try three tomorrow if my buddy decides to roll some of the roles for this.. thank to all who posted information on how to do this correctly.

I just tried this the first time and it works. Guess my PC gets some overwork this night ^^

I started my count at the message of playing 1 hour and stopped when it said that I'm playing 2 hours.

874 Lightbringer points with the 2 group-R/N strategy.

But for reference, Aohige's posts that I quoted are back on page 15. Started using that method myself.

4:46 am I had 15189 LB points

so in 7 hours I gained 5240 LB points, averaging out to just under 749/hour

Somehow I totally missed Eather's set up on page 13, gonna give that a shot since he posted it gets 1.4k/hour.

1.6k+ an Hour, 1 Man:

You need to be a bonder with:
Balthazar's Spirit
Life Bond
Life Barrier (e)
Essence Bond
Mending
Watchful Spirit

Your Heroes should be as follows:
N/D or D/N

Stats:
Earth: 8
Wind: 7
Death: 8
Curses: 12

Skills:
Contagion (e)
Enfeebling Blood
Rotting Flesh
Suffering
Vocal Minority
Dwayna's Touch
Armor of Sanctity
Mystic Regeneration

Bond each of your 3 N/D's or D/N's with:
Balthazar's Spirit, Life Bond, Life Barrier (e), and one or two with Essence Bond

Place Mending, Balth's Spirit, and Watchful Spirit on Yourself once setup.

Setting Up:
Find a Mob with Spears in it. Kill everything else off and split the spears. Have the D/N's or N/D's take turns pulling off one Spear to their own section (bond them first).

Watch the points roll in. This build needs no monks for farming, but that makes killing the groups a bit tricky. Best done with a friend (who is a monk) who brings another monk, a N/D or D/N, and a Warrior. This makes killing the groups easier, and adds a great deal more to your farming rate.

Each N/D or D/N is estimated at about 550 an hour. It is very possible to break 2k with another person farming with you (stated above). I haven't had too much time to mess with this, but for the time I ran it, it worked gloriously. Watch out for RAM overload. Hehe.

Apparently, despite the fact that I put the skills in the friggin order they need to be in, the stupid AI can't figure out what healing is. The time that I spent running this was probably that 1 in a million that everything works right. I'm going to test this with Vital Blessing to see if the AI get's any less stupid.

You can always use the links in the upper right hand corner of a post to link back to an older post. It's much less of an eyesore than page-long quotes.

Anyhow, who exactly cares about the speed of afk farming, so long as it works? You aren't paying attention while it happens and you hit the max within a week anyway.

Yes, 900 with 2 groups.

It has been posted before that 1 group of spears gets about 450/hour, which equates to 2 groups getting about 900. Mines modified and goes slightly faster, I get about 30 more points/hour.

just started afk farming an hour ago. recorded 500 LB points in 1 hour of farming spears with 2 groups. used the R/P spear build for Jin that used to be 1 of the premade builds during the NF preview event. other heroes included Dunkoro and Tahlkora while the henchies were Mhenlo, Devona, Gehraz, and Kihm. still need to experiment how to make it faster i guess. but as it happens there are at most only 2 spears in each group so i guess its ok. thanks to all the info on this thread. hope they don't nerf it yet.

According to the section on GW.com, there are 4 lightbringer skills yet only 2 are listed on wiki, gaze and signet. Does anyone know what the other 2 are and what level you need to reach to get them? I'm LB 5 with no farming time.

You played 9 Rings by doing nothing. You are AFK farming because you are doing nothing. Big difference.

I think the main thing about boting has a lot to do with taking game earnings and turning them into real world earnings. It also stand to reason the the afk farming requires a decent amount of human input to get positioned and set up. Then again it takes a good amount of programming setup to get a bot working as well. I think it comes down to the end result (if real world money is exchanged), not so much with LB points. But I'm sure this AFK farming for LB points will be squashed fairly soon.

This is where it depends on how you interpret the EULA....I see that as saying you many not use any outside mods to automate something for you. Whereas, something inside the game itself is completely fine. And it DOES require human input to setupm which to me, rules out the part you bolded.

I emailed anet yesterday asking where they stand on this so hopefully I will get an actual response as opposed to some snippit from the EULA.

I've got the feeling afk Lighbringer farming is quite popular and they're not going to ban maybe several thousand people for something that if it's against the rules, would only be on the edge of being so or not. - I'd say you shouldn't worry about getting banned.

I hope I can still get my 50K points before this is nerfed though, but I doubt it, my internet is shut off at night, and either way, I'm getting errors

Anyone know how to make the error=59 (or something like that) go away? It says it's my memory, but I kinda doubt that, because I've played 10 hours on a day before without restarting my computer, without any errors.

I cant see any problem with afk farming.
They made the game and its features and we are just making the most of them.

They could of removed the LB point gain from duplicate monsters like they did the XP gain and also you dont get gold or weapon drops from duplicates, so it's not like they cant stop it easily if they want to
