Calm down . There's always going to be players that contradict information when someone finds something they don't. I'm not going to say they are always wrong, but I will say they are always paranoid. Let them say their peace and just let it slide off you.

Maybe these are just placeholder skins (hopefully) or else the reward really does suck. I mean, at least if you beat him, you should get 1 or every gem or something.

You get 1 of each gem from the quest completion.

But in another Forum they said we should use Unnatural Signet which makes me think the Spirits near to him will weaken him, when they die...

I love how all the people who are saying "ZOMG doing the quest now is utterly meaningless" are the same guys who didn't even have a shot at doing it. Yeah, whatever. If you don't hvae enough pride to want to beat this guy, then you are definitely reading the wrong thread. Check back in a couple of weeks for the "Mallyx Solo Farming Cookie Cutter build."

Shame on all of you. The guy is a worthy foe. If the only reason you wanted to kill him was for some rare skins then, you wanna wait for the B/P farming thread.

No. This should simply remove the spirits from the area, which allows you to not have four enviro effects simultaneously. Honestly, I would use either unnatural signet, gaze of fury, or consume soul to deal with these. Unnatural sig is probably the best nonelite option there is due to its instant recharge and the low level of the spirits.

Before you get all up on your high horse, some of us just don't have hours and hours of uninterrupted time, and that the time we do have is better left to less frustrating and more rewarding ventures

I gave it a shot, finished City, failed close to end stygian, failed fury utterly after 2nd room and failed gloom on the insane waves of torment part every time. After that 'shot' I decreed it a waste of time and who gives a crap beating a 'worthy' foe when you've spent hours to get to him and kill him to get utter crap rewards in the end? Sorry most of us don't like being spanked so to speak =p

Actually, Anet fails at making challenging missions/areas, so what do is make gimmicky bullshit like this. Just like Urgoz/The Deep. "Hey guys, let's make an area full of level 28 margonites with level 24 attributes that hit for 500 AoE damage hahaha! Oh and while we're at it, let's add some retarded zone effects too... wheeeeeeee."

Fissure and UW... No gimmicky bullshit, and challenging for a long time. And STILL fun to play. In fact, without using post-Prophecies professions, UW still requires some organization to clear.

Edit: And the more gimmicky you make a place, the more limiting your option of professions and builds you can bring becomes -- as evidenced by Urgoz and The Deep, and now all over again in DoA. You can take *any* profession to Fis/UW without *any* problems. A badly organized group will fail whatever the group formation may be, a well organized group will always prevail.

Mallyx is NOT a worthy foe. There's nothing worthy about creating a guy with some uber skills that we don't have, having him hit for 600 damage and putting him in an area with some bs zone effects. Anet is forcing us to come up with EXTREMELY specific builds to stand a chance against him, many people will be left out once again.

Do I remember Anet calling this a "compelling mission"? Hah, plowing through 17 waves of lv28 mobs *yawn* and then facing this guy... compelling? What a joke.

(Oh and before people start claiming that I'm writing this becuase I probably just can't beat this myself or something... Me and my guild were one of the first to have finished the 4 areas, without much problems and much faster than it takes most groups to clear an area.)

I am sorry, all of you complaining about "we don't have all the time in the world as you do..." are doing two things that make no sense in the context of this thread:

a) Complaining that high level content in the game is easier/more accessible/more feasible for people who have hours to spend playing the game. Duh. Is there an on-line game that is NOT like that? A game in which you can play 1 hour a week and still be able to compete and do the same thing as someone who puts in 4 hours a day? Do you even think computer game companies WANT to make such a game?

b) You're complaints are not accurate either. I have friends who did not have 4 hours a day to pour into this. They waited for me and those who are dedicated to beating this to develop systems for besting the 4 quests. Joined on a run every now and then, and they STILL got all 4 done. You can now do the City in 1.5 hours, the Gloom in 2, the Foundry and the Veil in 3. So, it's only a question of finding a night to put in 3 hours to do foundry. That is no different than FoW where a decent run is 2-3 hours or more.

Couldn't agree more. Gimmicks ftl, UW/FoW ftw!
Make more God Realms and less elite missions.
This is also good, in the way that God Realms are for ALL chapters. So the one with older chapters will also get something good out of this

Sorry, but in PvE, rare skins are what people want.
