Yes. All the groups in Thirsty River fight each other. For the monk boss, just pull'em out into one of the patrols for the ranger boss. The patrols will start bashing each other, and you can eat the monk boss' priest while he's busy trying to heal the cursebearers and stuff. If you do it right, the priest won't even be in aggro bubble range of the monk boss.

I think this can probably be soloed with a Derv. Avatar of Melandru for immunity to daze and blind, Veil o fThorns + Armor of Sanctity and Conviction to reduce all damage to 0, and Mystic Regeneration to heal. Then Wearying Strike, Mystic Sweep to kill and Balth Spirit for mana. You can renew the Avatar after killing every boss so it won't have a down time if you kill fast enough.

It is probably easier with henchies and heroes. I played with my heroes and 2 pugs and the pugs keep attacking the boss while we almost got wiped by other guys.

I would think heroes would be good. I would try bringing an interrupter hero (ranger or mesmer skills), MM ( I used fiends since they did the most damage but you could go with horrors+jagged bones) and whatever else you want. The mm will easily help for the monk boss since everythings being damaged the monk goes to heal them all.

As a warrior you should simply outdamage the Monk Boss healing while killing the priest. So a Deep Wound is your best bet here, the classic spike Eviscerate/Executioner's works really well. But don't keep axe mastery so low, you have your Drok's armor, put an Axe Mastery Helm and a Superior Rune of Axe Mastery on it. Plague Touch is a must if you can't take Heroes, 'cause henches won't remove conditions from you and blinding archers will be a pain otherwise.

As a general tactic you should breeze through the Mesmer group, then take the Elementalist followed by the Necro team. In the third stage as soon as door opens go kill the priest of the Warrior team, then concentrate on his teammates. After this kill the Ranger group and keep Monk's for last. For this last group kill the furthest patrol, then rush to the priest, the remaining mobs shouldn't be enough to kill your group. Remember, if you see you can't kill the Priest at 1:50 just retreat, otherwise you're gonna be slaughtered.

For soloing the mission Grenth's Balance is quite satisfying, use it on the Monk boss while pounding the Priest when your health is very low, it will heal you completely and the Priest will cure him instead of himself...risky and quite hard, but it can be done.
