bug with luxon/kurzick factions??
It has been awhile since i played Factions (busy with Nightfall now), so maybe i am mixing things up, but i think this is a bug.
Today i decided to help someone who wanted a wand from a crafter in Vasburg. I have completed Factions a few times and every town unlocked, so i thought a simple mapmove would do the trick... I checked my factions and noticed i had 0 (zero) Luxon factions and 300 Kurzick factions. When i wanted to mapmove to vasburg i noticed that Vasburg was under Luxon control. So i had a problem because i had less Luxon factions than Kurzck factions. So i decided to do a simple Luxon quest with another char that gave me 750 Luxon factions, so now i had 750 Luxon Factions and 300 Kurzick factions. I mapmoved to Vasburg again (still under Luxon control) but that crafter didnt want to sell me something because i had more Luxon factions than Kurzick factions Again maybe i am mixing things up, but when a town is under Luxon control and my Luxon factions (750) > my Kurzick factions (300) then all npc's there should sell me stuff, right?? (Eventually i bought that wand in Levithian Pits  )

Could be that you didn't make the minimum difference?
If I remember correctly, I always made at least 500 faction more before I went to talk to some npc that required faction. |

Is that something "new" then?? I have beaten factions twice (both chars have 95% master carto title) and a 3rd char is apx 80-85% now and i never had this problem before...

I think what matters is which faction you have befriended last, regardless how many faction points you got atm.
I have 10k faction points of both Luxon/Kurzick atm, but I befriended the Luxons last to explore the Luxon areas on my ranger and now have no problems dealing with Luxon merchants/NPC's, whereas Kurzicks wont deal with me anymore. |

That cant be the case because i befriended both sides (Kurzicks last) and afaik "befriending" has no effect at all on the trading. Afaik the only thing that matters is the number of needed factions must be greater than the other factions. When a Kurzick town/outpost is under Luxon control then you need to be sure that your luxon factions is greater than your kurzick factions... i did that (750 Lu > 300 Ku) but they didnt wanted to trade me (first time this happened to me).
Btw, having 10k factions on both sides isnt a smart move as you will loose both factions when you trade in your factions for amber or jadeite... |

I did a little test in Durheim Archives under exact same circustances: Durheim Archives is a Kurzick outpost under Luxon control. My factions are still the same (750 Luxon, 300 Kurzick). All npc's in DA had no problems trading with me... so the fact that Vasburg Armory weaponcrafter didnt wanted to trade with me = bug (situation was exactly the same).
Oh well, nobody seems to care about factions anymore... |

Today i checked again in Vasburg (situation still the same): all npc's talk to me, minus the 2 crafters (armor and weapons)...

maybe it's the crafters, they might not be under the influence of the amount of faction you have. But i don't believe there is a minimum difference because i've played factions like 5 times (tis my favorite <3) and i've had where i'm only 100 more with faction and kurzicks would let me use the merchants and such. and that's after befriending the luxons and finishing the luxon side of course so i would only have like random less than 1k amount left.
i've never used the weapon crafters and the armor crafters were mainly the ones in leviathan pits..and each time i guess i got it when the appropriate side owned it and i had the right amount of faction. but i really wanna say that the crafters there aren't influenced, BUT i really could be wrong as well =\ |
