Helcaraxe - Trust me, even though you don't see it yet, the 2.5% IS there

You do NOT have to explore the arenas at all! My Tyrian Ele was born after the closure of the arenas and managed to get the GMC title. If you are having trouble with finding spots to explore, please visit the Stickied thread for help.

I would like to point out here to ANY and ALL explorers, the GMC title is not something that you rush through, when you rush you miss small patches which makes you go nuts afterwards The ArenaNET team have learned quite a bit from Prophecies on map making as well as how to define explorable edges. Thus Factions and Nightfall is a tad easier to explore.

As for the leeway that was given on the title, it seems that there is some confusion here. There is roughly a 1% grace map area given to all who are after the GMC titles. This is so for each of the maps. The confusion stepped in with those chars who had been around before when the arenas were PART of the map. These chars have a much larger percentage leeway.

On a last note, Lornars Pass is not a good indicator to use for percentage explored. Even though it is a big area, it does not constitute even a full 1% of the map I learned this the hard way.

So in closing, if you are stuck during your explorations, please make use of the stickied threads in each of the campaign sections. Those of us who have made it through these will gladly help where we can. If you do not want a map comparison but instead just some aid on how to clear a specific area, feel free to ask there as well

Cherrie:
In other thread in Riverside where they ask Wintersday Gift donations for Taiwanese people, Gaile Gray underlines that they don't have any kind of /spawn command or any other methods spawn goodies endlessly. That might go to maps also that they changed leeway but were unable to change existing percentages.

And I'm she not he, by the way, my fiancee is he .

Luciora:
Just as our last 0.8% and 0.9% were there when we finished Hell's Precipice, it just were in tiny little chucnks leaving hardly any leeway. There definitely isn't even 1% extra blur in our maps now that we got 100%.

Well perhaps not a full 1% anymore no, but that's fine by me really. This should be a title for the people (like you) who keep going back to get it

I've always been cartographing freak, even before no one knew about those titles I wanted to see everything. When CMG title was introduced 3/4 of my characters already had like over 80%, one which didn't had ~80% (my mesmer) was somewhere around Yak's Bend .

Going bit off-topic.. Anyone else with experiences? Or old writers remembering something new?

I just got my Tyrian GMC not too long ago.

Keep in mind that I'm an Elonian born character (Dervish).

I can tell you, that there is a considerable amount of leeway given for all characters. Here's a map of my 100%. The circled areas are the areas of leeway I was given, and didn't really need to map fully to get my 100%. So really, there's ~102% you can map IF you have the arenas.

I got Tyrian GMC on a character that was created a long time before the Factions release, but with no PvP arenas because I simply didn't visit them at the time they were available.

All in all, there was the required leeway to do this entirely through Photoshop, and I know for a fact that there are certain areas that can be explored a little more, although not as big as Lornar's pass, certainly. It is still possible though.

I think that there is some difference between characters, because on my map these spots (and everything else) is explored but stucked at 99.9% for a long time, no matter how many times i revisit the areas
