Ok, I know what to do to get the bonus.

But the problem is when the bearers crossed the tar pit, the damned prince rurik attack and killed all of them.

I bailed out and restart the mission and what do you know? The damned prince rurik is at it again!

Can I initiate the bonus after I lower down the bridge instead?
(hopefully the damned prince will follow me so I can make sure he's not being stupid again)

If you try to do the bonus after Prince Rurik and Erk (whatever that other mage guy is called) are standing next to the bridge waiting for it to come down, they shouldn't move, I'm pretty sure. So were you activating it before you set them there? Or maybe it's a glitch (I don't know, haven't done that mission in half a year). yeah, he wasn't moving and he was standing near the cliff. (caused agro on the bearers)
Maybe i should try to walking to the bridge to make him walk there.
My ranger used flatbow so she tends to stay far2 away from enemies/hench.
that might caused the damned prince fallback to my position near the cliff.

Anyway, I'll try that tomorrow. thanks for the tips.

Once you take Rurik to the bridge he won't move until you open it from the other side.
