Default Low Level Tyrian heroes.

When NF first came out I heard about heroes that characters can get. One of the first things I did was bring my monk and elementalist over, just to get the heroes. When I got them they were low level (~lvl 5). They're around there now.
After a major update (before wintersday possibly)? I brought some other non-elonian characters (my canthan ranger) over and was treated with heroes that became lvl 15 as soon as I went back into Kamadan (from lvl 5).
Checking on my older characters I found that they were still low level. Do I still have to manually level them up or is there something non-elonians can do (in elona) to get them up to lvl 15 quickly?

If there isn't, I was wondering if they would get experience from missions that the heroes haven't done yet but the character has (my monk has protector tyria)? Or would I have to find quests that I haven't done and do those with the heroes?

Thanks.

I doubt redoing completed missions would give them any XP, but there's only one way to find out. Do a couple of the easy ones and find out.

There is an easy way to level heroes up. Do high end quests, but before you accept the rewards switch you lower level heroes in. The get the quest reward without doing the work.

There's no way to instantly level them up, which is a shame, as old imported characters will still have low lvl characters. I guess I'm keeping my Tyrian Warrior's lvl 2 Koss as a type of novelty, but eh. The really irritating thing is that I got my Warrior over to grab his heroes, but not do Consulate Docks, and now he had to do Land of Heroes with low lvl heroes >.<

By the time someone gets to Gate of Desolation, their heroes will have been leveled already.

The easiest way to level up your heroes that I've found is the random quests in Factions. You get anywhere between 2k - 4 or 5k for doing the quests around Kaineng Center. Levels up the heroes in no time. Of course, if you don't have Factions.... I seem to remember a thread about this a while back. I'll try and look for it. I think it had something to do with xp scrolls and trolls outside of droks. Could be wrong tho.

Not true, I'm at Abbadon's Gate and I have a level four Koss. My only Level 20 heroes are Zhed, Morgahn, and Master of Whispers. I think my next highest is level 15.

Also, character's who went to elona before they made the changes can go and do the Defend Champion's Dawn, primary quest. I'm not sure if it has any affect, but you can get it now.

All I've been doing is getting my heros to do quests. I haven't completed every quest in Cantha, or in Elona. So I just do those quests with my low lvl heros and level them up. My characters can take care of themselves and I take a couple of henchies for backup. My Monk took my lvl 2 Koss and now he is lvl 16. Questing with as few henchies/heros as possible can boost xp for your heros by a lot.

So far, my Paragon has lvl 20th heros, my dervish has lvl 19 heros, and my tyrian mesmer has lvl 20 heros. My tyrian & cantha characters haven't ventured much (other than my mesmer) so they still have lvl 14 heros. But I still have many Canthan quests, so they'll lvl up quickly.

You dont have to use heros to level them, check the post by DunedainJedi above: Whenever you accept a quest reward, take your low level heroes into the group first. That way they still level, without ever being used.

I have all my heroes at high levels and its really easy to do so.

Just play the game at a normal rate and keep switching to lower-level heroes (dont have a party of 3 lvl 20s) and they level fast. Never waste an opportunity to level your heroes. If an area is too hard for the low level ones, bring out 2 lvl 20's and a low lvl one. He will level 2-3 times per mission. Or go farming with them, using scrolls ofcourse.

The best thing is bring 3 level 20 heroes to do quests and dont get the rewards yet. When you have already completed lots of quest then kick the level 20 heroes and put your low level ones and accept the rewards.

Or wait for coming weekend, take heroes, take a bounty for a foe that is plentifull and easy to kill, take scroll. Ull get them 6x the normal XP, considering their enemies are at least higher lvl then they are, ull get AT LEAST 600 xp per kill (for whole group). And very likely A LOT MORE. Now consider pwning groups of 5-6 bugs in Marga Coast...

You can also do the lvl 18 bugs with 3 Heroes + 2 henchies (which makes total size of party 6 and gives you more xp, cos of less sharing).

PLUS you get Sunspear points for killing them and earn access to the rest of cantha (u need to be Sunspear General to progress in game).
