That's true. It can be very quick to get an Elonian character out of Istan if you are heading for Tyria or Cantha. All that needs to be done is getting your character to Kamadan, getting ferried to the docks, and then getting ferried from there to Tyria and/or Cantha.

So I just got NF and I am working on my first char there, if I go to Tyria or Cantha can I go back to Elona whenever I want to continue the quests and stuff?

Yes, you can now. They added level requirements to important quests so that if you level to high you can still continue.
