ok. my 2 cents... I've heard it said MANY times that the purple chests CAN drop crystallines, but the gold ones don't. For me, that's reason to try EVERY chest in FoW. Also, i've had much more success with smite hex and holy veil instead of healing breeze, as i've had bad aggros in my group, where i was slowed down twice ... and had to make use of veil and smite hex.
A good runner should be able to to make it without healing breeze, and endure pain is just there for the extra "umph," as i've had times where i got down to 1 health with endure pain on. Otherwise, nice guide.

The main reason why i have healing breeze in it, because when endutre pain ends, i have 1 health most of the times, so instead of waiting for regen (using healing sig will kill you) i just use healing breeze.

I feel alot of you are underestimating what I find to be the most useful skill when running in the Fissure of Woe

Disciplined stance pretty much removes all damage given to you in a 10 second time limit, although the recharge time is insane I feel that this skill is perfect when a mob is around a chest and you need to go in and open it.

Feel free to criticize me on this but I think Disciplined Stance is the most overlooked skill in the warriors inventory!

Good atempt at a guide, but chest runs are very VERY un-productive as the vast majority of items you get is rubbish. I personaly have spent 60 keys before I got a perfect chaos axe or fellblade and thats about 30 runs or so and takes weeks. I have used well over 200 keys and only found 3 items worth the hassle and this is more than some. Also runners can die anywhere not just at the 2 locations you mentioned and there are too many places to mention....wurms, forest etc

comendible effort only let down buy some exageration.

I think this could be completed by being honest about the drops and how difficult the run is (you missed the whole section before the spider cave as its currently blue also as you run past the forest with the windmill just before the wurms). Also I would like to see a section about why everyone should bring rebirth (or rez) and why they shouldnt run the mobs into the ghost at the start or why they should wait and rez fallen party members if possible. Also something stating 125 gold to leader before entering so they do not have to constantly ask someone to pay and so on (people should do this automaticaly)... Lastly the build you posted is not the best build for chest running, perhaps post a few options

Lastly chest runs are productive, just dont expect anything too quickly...your in for the long haul but they are fun and demanding at the same time as the pulse quickend ar your running through 20 enemies trying to kill you and opening 2-3 chests per run adds a little excitment.

Well im sorry if you dont have great luck. This run is bassed off of luck, but if you spent alot on keys, 1 drop can change everything. For ex last night i was very mad bc i spent 15keys for crap, then i opened a chest near the cave, ZOMG a gold unid shadow blade, req 9 droped. Sold it for 50k, made my day.

I am able to solo this whole intire run. The only problem that can turn out unpredictable is the part towds the Firey Forest.I will update this with some more pictures about getting through the cave, and i've created a much better build. As i said up there ^^, Ill post a new build, more pics on how to handle this as soon as america gets favor.

As far as crystalline is concerned... I have never seen a crystalline drop from a key chest, purple or gold, so until I actually see a screenshot of that, that's what I'll believe. As far as this run is concerned, it is indeed very luck based, I do it from time to time for a change of pace. So far, after using about 70 keys, all I have gotten are completely uselss stuffs. (But I will keep going with FoW chest run when I get tired of regular farming)

Dont get me wrong..I applaud anyone who takes the time to post builds and guides. I only made my comments to make this post something to stand out rather than just another guide. I can gaurntee I have done more chest runs than most and helped many ppl chest run also so Im surprised by some excagerations so my comments are based on experience.

Quote:
The only part that can any runner die on is the spider cave
This is very untrue...sorry even the best die other places frequently. You can die on the beach, just after the wurms, just before the cave, in the cave, in the forest (both of em) etc etc and I have done this too many times and no matter how good the other runners...they can die anywhere (as I can). I do not beleive if we ran some chest together I would find you any different than the other hundred good runners that I have ran with and there is no build that will gaurntee the only place you can die is in the spider cave. People deserve an accurate guide. I have ran 20 runs in a row without dying and other times died 5 times a row in different places so i know this is luck as well as skill. Admitidly when I do die it usualy when trying to rez others.

I did however notice you mentioned 2-5 runs on average to find rare chaos axe etc.... Im only interested in perfect wepons so I think I missunderstood you there (rare=gold).... not perfect. I found a shed load of gold wepons doing chest runs, but nothing is worth it unless perfect and you dont find 1 +15%>50% chaos axe every 2-5 runs chest farming. So yeh if your into finding gold wepons FoW chest runing is good, its just going to take you some time to find your 2 perfect fellblades and chaos axe as it did with me (over 200 keys). I have spoken to too many regular chest runners to be unlucky (although i dont think I am..I have 3 perfect wepons after all).

Again good post, but could be better if more accurate/honest.

FoW chest running is fun and exciting, just dont expect to waltz through finding a perfect chaos axe every 2-5 runs and only having to be careful (or die) near the spider cave. You will die lots everywhere, waste a shed load of keys and get very frustrated spending weeks until you finaly find that perfect fellblade (after a few weeks)...end of story. Bring rez or rebirth you selfish gits and here is a build that works the best for a W/Mo

Sprint (used in between charge)
charge
Diciplined stance (used with charge most of the time)
shields up (use in certain areas where enemies use ranged)
endure pain (good in emergency)
Healing breeze (when you need to)
mending (use for certain areas that you cant stop to heal)
Rebirth (dont be selfish...bring it!!!!)

I preffer weapons/shields that give HP and have 30 from axe and 30 from shield =+60HP and -2 dmg reduction while in stance as I dont find I need extra energy even with Mending on for those long haul runs (26 is more than enough). Sometimes Symbol of wrath can clear the enemies away if you get trapped in the narrow passage next to the white lines or sometimes by the mobs at the wurms...so if you find this happening to you take this skill.

Nice tip in the spider cave though!... I didnt know that!

Well, I just thought there would be a lot of casualties at the parts where things get rough (spider caves or abyssal block). So I took IWAY and it does its work just fine.

Wilderness Survival: 10

Escape (E)
Dodge
Storm Chaser
Dryders Defense (the reason it's not WD is because this one gives huge armor boost against elemental damage)
Troll Unguent
Healing Breeze
Heal Area
Rebirth

Hard to kill build. Works wonders for me
