If you never take anyone new, they'll never learn.

My first time through Urgoz, with no TS (or sound) I made it just fine, trapping and backup EoE. Primary, after our first DCed. Monks were griefers though.

We do, they just happen to be guildies and allies.

I think you got lucky there. It happens, it really does!

You probably had a good leader who was able to pick the kind of team he wanted, and you also didn't have the ogogog players.

Too bad the monks turned out to be duds, they could have made life unhappy for a while, glad they didn't ruin it for you.

What if you brought a paragon with Signet of Return?

Also, I still think 3-manning urgoz is highly viable using 3 people, 3 heroes each. You'll need a real 1hp BiP, and so you don't enter the room with -10 degen right before urgoz, once all monsters are clear, you flag the heroes as far away as possible, and have a real ranger set up level 11 EoE, and 3-man kill urgoz :P since the heroes should be far enough away, they won't steal drops (if they can steal drops, I'm not willing to test if they can or not) then 100% of the runs you get a bow, 3 bows for 3 people.

I absolutely hate that too...

I was in an Urgoz group as SS, and the final B/P joins and the leader asks him to bring EoE. However he just types ogogogog, and for some reason, the leader went. We fortunately made it to Urgoz and we started fighting him and the leader asks the final B/P to put up EoE. It turns out that the B/P did not bring EoE, so we couldn't beet Urgoz.... Three hours down the drain...

don't even get me started! i love playing at urgoz (i've parked 2 chars there), but its been home to all sorts of noobs lately. my soul hurts when the echo firestorm nuker gets the longbow or the ranger that insists that the rit only spam splinter weapon on all the rangers and forget about making spirits. lol!
