Default Urgoz' Warren, not for the weak hearted and impatient...

Little rant, close if you feel like it, won't bother me. I recently tried a few Urgoz runs and I was flabberghasted by the suckyness displayed by players there. It's not that they are not skilled, but I meet an unnatural number of asshats down there. I would like to say the following to people wanting to try Urgoz:

-Urgoz is hard, if someone dies, don't yell at him, you might be next quite soon. Deaths aren't the end of the world, what's Urgoz without DP?
-Urgoz takes loooong. If you are short on time, don't join a group. Again, be civil, noone is going to play with a total asscake for 3 hours.
-Composing a team takes a while, so don't shout GOGOGOGOGO 1 second after you get in a team.
-Communicate, don't afk when people are still checking skills with eachother.
-If the leader is reasonable, please listen to him/her and take the skills people require, no fun when the main EoE guy dc's and the guy that told to bring a backup didn't bring one at all.
-Learn to kite or you will give monks a real headache. Hammer wardens DO kill you in 3 blows.
-If you really HAVE to afk, which isn't a crime since people tend to have lives, double check with the team if they know you are, don't just stand somewhere and leve people uninformed.
-Don't scribble on the map like an idiot if the puller has another idea of pulling then you, it's often just a matter of preference and people need their radar for other things.

I just wanted to post this because the odds of failing are 100x higher in Urgoz then in any other mission i played (except DOA, but I don't touch that).
The number of total tards I met in there is also way higher then in other missions, or is it just me?

^Standards like that should go with all missions/quests. People should just not be idiots. Ever.

Considering it takes 45 mins-3 hours just to organize our 12-person group full of guild/alliance members (usually wait for more rather than take PUGs), I can only imagine the frustration at PUGging in there.

you missed some that tend to bother me:

- please do some research before embarking upon an elite mission for the first time. It doesnt' take long to read 1 wiki entry and learn what you might need to bring or to ask a friend that runs there. do not be shy about asking your party leader what you *should* be bringing.

- please, please make sure you have an elite skill, preferably a desirable one. I cant tell you how many times I've had people join a barrage pet team without barrage ... or a pet ... o.O

- dont expect people to want to bring your wammo, derv, sin (yes even crit barrage) or anything else the party leaders might not find desirable. if you want to be desirable and get into teams fast, bring a desirable character. don't stand in town begging and whining about it, fix it!

- get your keys before the mission - dont spam about your personal key situation in mission. I assure you, no one really wants to hear it.

- DO _ NOT _ CHEST _ HUNT ... chest hunters (aggroers of popups) are the death of probably 90% of all failed teams. If you want chests, go to the deep. The drops there are the same but a lot less ... fatal.

Tell me about it... the last pug i was in completely ignored my command to 'not enter the room'. So what do the dumb f*ck monks do? All run in to room to pick up items, doors close... then they run around like retards luring out 3 mobs of Thorn Wolves... which we killed with 5 fatalities... so they ran round and lured out the new spawns too!

Morons.

If only there were enough people in there, it would take considerably shorter. In tombs you can have a decent PUG together in 10 minutes on peak times. In urgoz however you have the choice from the same pool of scrubs every time you form a team there. And then that cheap-assed tree only drops 3 bows, it's almost a blessing that half the team usually leaves before the end.

Heh, I couldn't agree more with this thread.

Let's explain a few things first: I don't go with the typical trapper group, I take 4 b/p's, 3 nukers, SS and bip necros, 2 monks and a rit lord. Since we keep EoE up to do massive damage I don't take minions 'cause they'd be wiped too fast, mobs are usually packed -and big- so SS works wonderful here. BASically, the SS does the cleanup, and I like it this way. Pets and some traps are bodyblocking. I pulled this and finished this without traps and when I have someone beside me as I pull (I pull fast...) they get killed and whine that the monk didn't heal them (and when you have 3 rangers who followed you to put traps then blame you or the monks, then rage... not fun).

I certainly CAN'T understand why people never follow instructions. And no, the "they don't speak English" isn't the case 'caue I say everything in French/English (met a lot of French-speakers down there) even German at times. This isn't an excuse. Maybe people are just complete retards or something, but for the last 4 runs I've started, I haven't completed ONE. There's always someone quitting 'cause of whatever reason they can find; even though I explained EVERYTHING once I got 12 people...

So yeah, it IS frustrating to deal with impatient people who never listen to anything.

I've given up on Urgoz now. One time no one brought EoE. Another time no one had CC or NT. Another time they did, went up to pull one lever and jumped back down without touching the other one, at which point all the corpses had gone. I mean, I usually try ask everyone to ping skillbars, but there are so few people there now that you just have to accept what there is and hope they are veterans. Chest drops royally suck, so whats the point... I mean, there are plenty of idiots in the deep too, but they just seem better at following instructions.

If i would make 10 runs of each, the outcome would be.

8/10 Succesful runs in The Deep
2/10 Succesful runs in Urgoz

Main reason is lack of communication, and willingness to accept what someone else desire, put it this way, i can take EoE if told to, or we could discuss through to some solution if i want to bring something else.
If you ask me, i would think that most urgoz players have their minimap shut off, or hidden behind the party window ^^

And one note... the drops people get will not fade away into oblivion, there will be time to pick them up, how many times have not one rushed in because of a gold/key drop, just to aggro loads and bring destruction to the team.

Urgoz is evil

People see empty rooms and think they are safe when hell is only 2 meters away.

Urgoz is easy god... never failed under my supervision~ :> Played at least 30 times. Trying a 5 men build for urgoz this time~ hopefully its not nerfed before i made one hehe~ 80% done with the 5 men build hehe.

Last thing, urgoz is much ezier than the deep. Tell all rangers except for the eoe to bring dust trap and the rt lord do their job then its GG. if your team is not exp then you should bring an MM instead of an SS, be sure to not let the MM to step on the dust trap~ keep them on the back line then GG. Hint for last room. Hit and Run in urgoz's chamber, until 90% hp then keep running around then GG muahhaha. Urgoz is very ez if an EXP person can lead. It is so far the easiest mission to me.

Deep is harder because people wanted to run for the evil chest they saw which is almost impossible to get, such as the room that you cant cast spells on, haha no rez then... GG

Believe it or not..100+ runs of both elite mission for me Deep and Urgoz are my lair, not theyr.....Hard for me to get past the 1h30 min with pugs as the Ssod guild or some like that can pass the 1h godly time. As for Deep, its so much easier...im doing 9 men runs all the time in 45 min so yes urgoz is harder

The only thing I dont like about Urgoz is the amount of time my alliance takes in getting themselves sorted out, kitted up and skillbars pinged until the leader likes what he sees.

Urgoz is called an Elite Mission for a reason. Its bloomin' hard and if you dont know what you're doing you're a dead toon. Which makes beating it and seeing Urgoz die all the more sweet. Not getting a green bow at the end of the mission feels like a good kicking in the nether regions by spikey iron clad boot - but at least the warm glowy 'URGOZ is dead' feeling is still there - then again that could be the cold hard knife of disappointment at not getting a green bow again twisting and squirming through your living guts... ermm/ Always have a good game though going through it - Just need to make sure that you go with Alliance people - I did 3 Urgoz's with random people and I refuse to go there now unless I know the people Im going with.. No one works together in random groups and everyone thinks they know better than everyone elese or someoner thinks they can pull better than the other person - blah bla blah. Also TeamSpeak or Skype is absolutely necessary to play Urgoz. Otherwise people get wiped.

I'm what I could consider experienced; I know exactly where I'm going and I know what's gonna work and what's not. I know what I want and when people start arguing with me, they usually tend to be kicked by either me if I'm in lead of the group, or I make sure one of my guildies is. So once I have the perfect group... there's usually an ******* in it that wants to ruin the whole thing by not doing is job, leeching or simply arguing... once we're in so I can't kick him. And THAT'S what I hate about Urgoz; when I don't find noobs who argue all the time 'Cause they're set half nuker/Half MM when I wanted an SS necro, I get experienced people who keep arguing with half of the group.

Good times at Urgoz and Deep.
Fast and good pugs
3 trys and i kill urgoz and get longbow...
2 trys and i kill kanaxis and get edge...

Urgoz is about avoid the ambushs and pops... the leader need to be a dictator and avoid the firstimers to trigger the pops. If leader is good urgoz < deep.

Yeh, deep has easier mobs, but the mission itself requires more thinking then just set traps->go.
Once you have the hang of Urgos it's constantly traps-spirit wall-lure-own entire mob-rinse repeat. Oh and make sure someone waits before the warden trap bridge :P

Dude, are you my twin? Actually, if this made you my twin, I guess all of us here would be... Uh... What is it when someone has 10+ babies at once?
Anyway, what I mean is that I completely agree, though these people are EVERYWHERE. Really, I HATE it when I generously help some pug go through a mission that they obviously can't do, that they KNOW they don't have the skill to help in and all they can say is GOGOGOGOGOGOG. (And yes, they are so involved with hitting those two buttons they do tend to leave a 'G' on the end. :P

LOL we've seen that so many times, it's become a private joke in our guild now, when we know we're all ready (we NEVER pressure anyone to really go go go), someone invariably types: "ogogogogog." It never stops being funny. :P

Oh yeah SS is so sexy in there, I never had a curses necro in the team except for yesterday and it completely owned these pesky wardens. Man that guy was a good player too, too bad half the team didn't bother listening to him so of course group got wiped again.
