Default Has Death-Leveling in Pre-Searing been nerfed?

I have just recently read up on the technique to "death-level" foes in pre-searing Ascalon in order to be able to gain higher experience points from the eventual kills.

However, despite efforts by several people who had been sure they knew how to do it, it no longer seems to work.

I've attempted the Charr in the Northlands as well as some Striders outside Ashford. With the Charr, after many, many, mannnny attempts, neither myself nor a few other people were able to even pull them back all the way to the shrine.
The Striders outside Ashford stick with it for awhile, but after leveling once, and a little more time goes by, they stray off on their own. I even came back to the computer, gave them a 'tap' as it were, to pull them back, and they were attacking me and actually DURING the attack, while I was being hit, they decided to stop and stroll away.

Has the entire ability to death-level been nerfed?

If so, I have only one question: why the heck does the LDoA title exist, if every effort has been made to prevent people from attaining it?

I really doubt it. Unless Anet are coming up with an alternate method for the Legendary Death-leveler of Ascalon title as i've suggested in my thread in Sardelac, they won't be removing death leveling.

But he just said that death-leveling isn't working.

In which case...Wait til hard-mode, I guess? But yeah, I see no point of the title if you can't death level.

I doubt it's been nerfed, or ever will be. Anet aren't gonna add another way to get the title (I hope). Anyway, I'm part of a huge pre searing community, and haven't heard anything about this. Are you sure you're pulling the right groups (of Charr, that is) You have to kill the first two (one isn't a patrol group, and one runs while they patrol, so it is impossible to pull them). Also, it is impossible to pull them all the way to the shrine in one go, you have to keep shooting them every time they turn around and start walking (make sure they're walking, it won't work if they're running).

I'm assuming you knew that, since you said you'd read up on it, but thought I'd go over the basics anyway.

Also, with regards to the Striders in Ashford, I rarely got that to work. It was on my fourth or fifth attempt that the damn birds wouldn't walk out of my agro bubble while I was dead.

After all that, if you're still having problems, I have no idea. It must be some bug (possibly something caused by the AI changes... Have those happened yet?)

It still works fine , I need to death level ~5 more nights until I get title.... you just need to know how to pull charr properly

btw there are guides posted on these forums on how to pull charr correctly

It is frustrating but there is some randomness to where the striders spawn and they will tend to wander back to the immediate area where they originally spawned. If you have to antagonize a strider and then lead him to the res shrine, his spawn is probably too far away - map travel to the abbey and then try again until you get a strider spawned closer to the shrine. I usually have to try 3 or 4 times to get a good spawn.

DL'ing has not been nerfed.
-- Striders (and spiders): Yes, make sure their patrols cross over the rez shrine before you aggro them, or you'll lose them if you go AFK.
-- Ashford: I use spiders and striders outside the Barradin Estate instead, it's much faster to set up (walk out, look left, if the spawn is bad, turn around & do it again) and spiders already start a level ahead of striders, so it's a touch quicker as well.
-- Charr: As others already said, it takes multiple pulls, and you have to hit them when they're walking away, not running away. There are several good, detailed guides on this site (and others), so I won't repeat any further.
