Default Elonian Grandmaster tips and hints

I'm playing a monk and recently I've been trying to get Kind of a Big Deal and I figured for that title I would need 3 maxed protectors, lightbringer 8 and a grandmaster since they're the cheapest. Elona seems to be the easiest to explore so I'm going to try and get 100% explored on Elona.

I'm currently on 46.1% so it's going to take a long time until I'm done, but I'm running into some problems. In some maps there's mesmers with crippling anguish, warriors with cripples, knockdowns, etc so running it seems nearly impossible for a monk. But fighting through every map will take months I think.

Does anyone have a build for me to run through hex-heavy areas while also being able to stay alive from physical hits? Or one of each.

Also, if you're a monk Elonian Grandmaster, could you please tell me how you did it? It'd help me a lot.

Thanks for reading. ^^

Well I'm not a grandmaster yet (97% and still scraping) but I'd say running isn't really an option. You need to scrape every wall in every map so it takes time, and is slow going. My advice would be to take your hero A team + henchies and just fight your way round, at least that way you'll make some cash and get the odd gold drop into the bargain.

Running for GMC doesn't really work all that well because 7 out of 10 times you will have to go back and scrape the wall slowly anyway. The best way IMO is to just take it slow and enjoy it if you can. It's really not that bad since you mostly just have to concentrate on the ouside walls. I find that there aren't alot of enemies in each map along the walls anyways. As Saraphim said, take your best heroes and a full henchy crew. I found that I didn't even need to help them fight most of the areas and just scraped along while they killed everything for me.

running the walls is point less..... if you run through the areas you will miss little bits how do i know ? because i ran through some areas or most areas and im at 99% with all areas mapped so i have to go back to all the areas and walk all the areas again.

so... take your time... walk the walls

there's already a post on sticky about elonion GMC please dont double post. everything you need to know about getting the GMC is in that post !
