Default Help with Vanquisher title in Tyria

I don't know what I'm missing
I've been on this map for almost 7 hours now (it'll be way more by the time u get to this post). And I refuse to log off. I've killed 380 enemies and for the life of me can't find the last few to kill to have Vanquished this area.

The map is Diesa Lowlands. I'm very sad now. I'm gonna have to wonder around for, what I think will be days, and probably eventually give up. I reckon I'll stop running around by Wednesday (It's monday today).

If these stupid hydras through the stupid Flame Temple Corridor Portal are the stupid reason I can't vanquish this stupid area.. Then GG. I've been defeated.

I've now started to mark the paths I've been on with gold coins. So far I'm down about 4k, and still no foes to vanquish. If you do happen to visit Diessa Lowlands, follow the trail of gold coins and you'll find the corpse of a little monk who had a dream, and died sad and lonely (Lonely because there aren't any enemies to keep her company). Grrrr

If its a patrol then leaving gold coins around won't help you. I spent 15 minutes searching for the last 3 patrols of Dark Flame Dryders in Perdition Rock, i finally found the last patrol in an area i'd checked twice already. You might stand a better chance flagging heros, if 1 of them gets killed... head to that location ASAP.

As for those Hydra... it probably is their doing. Which is pretty lame in all honesty as they're not in the zone... so you shouldn't have to kill them.

Unfortunately, I believe that those Hydras are indeed the problem. There is a note about it on GuildWiki. Check it out.

It's the hydras. We had the exact same thing happen to us this weekend and I have a very similar screen shot. Hopefully this is a bug that gets fixed soon as it was very demoralizing.

Thanks for the feedback guys..

I have given up. It's really frustrating as this was one of the areas I really looked forward to have beaten/vanquished in Ascalon. I really don't feel like trying to vanquish this, or any area again soon.

I had a similar problem with Old Ascalon. At my second attempt I realised that this little grawl patrol actually goes into Sardelac Sanitarium and had to wait at the Portal for them to come out and kill them.. Once I did this *tada*.. Old Ascalon vanquished

How about trying to go to Flame Temple Corridor first and then exiting out of there to see if the hydras spawn behind you as you enter from that direction. I haven't tried this method so I don't know if it will work or not. Just offering a tip.

Forgive my ignorance, but what are those icons in your lower right corner, Super Dave? Quest icons or something?

Cool idea

I was actually coming from Yak's bend-->Travelers Vale-->Ascalon Foothills-->Diessa Lowlands. Cleared Ascalon Foothills on my way (pretty easy)

The original plan was to clear the whole of Ascalon with 6 members instead of 4. (except old ascalon, already vanquished it). And then a major hurdle got put in my path. I'm not raging/complaining/moaning/..maybe whining a little. just very sad that this happened. It sucks to spend that much time to accomplish something and not getting the desired reward. I got a pretty cool req9 gold 15^50 Brute Sword out of the whole catastrophy.

It would be really cool if this kinda adventure could be planned with like-minded players. I just don't trust PUGs to stay for the entire journey. I can imagine starting from Yak's Bend. Clearing maybe 2 areas, and then people start leaving. I've had the excuse "My mom says I can't play anymore" thrown at me quite a few times. Has anyone started a "Vanquisher Guild"? Guild Name: Population Control Tag: [KiLL]

Indeed, us GWGuruers need to start forming Vanquisher groups. PuGs usually only do HM for the missions and you're not likely to find any in town who want to go vanquishing.

And we all know how plain terrible heroes and henchies are.

sounds like a good idea. Perhaps make a sign up thread, like they have for mapping the Jade Quarry.

Yep, this would be the ideal situation, problem is... guildies don't always share the same goals as you do. And to find a guild that does /sigh. Guild hopping title anyone?

I actually did this last night, all the way from Yak's to Ruin's of Surmia, or whatever is the last zone. Unfortunately, I couldnt kill the grawl undolytes (in the last zone) with my build as 2 or 3 would use HH + heal area while healing each other. Bring a dom mesmer if youre going all the way, so you wont be dissapointed like me. My build was 2 SF an MM, monk henchie, war henchie, and myself as monk btw.

And yeah, those hydras almost screwed me too, they were on the edge of the protal, and could be pulled. Good luck!

Just an idea... can you flag one of your heroes in their aggro range and try to lure them out ? ( i dont know if its possible, cos there is a portal in the way)

^^ Nope. The moment a hench/hero touches a portal, they respawn at your location. You could before Nightfall was released, but has since been fixed to prevent players from using Recall to get pass them.
