Default Road to Borlis Pass

As you may know, on this quest you have to kill groups of dwarves until you reach the end. When I get to the big group (10-14) I consistently die.

A I supposed to pick them off one at a time or am I doing something wrong?

I am a lvl 12 R/N that was partied with NPCs. Brawler, fighter, Cultist, Healer and Enchanter.

U're supposed not to die The secret to any aggro = Long/Flatbow! Just work with skills u have available, I'm not sure if a Ranger already has traps in Borlis Pass, but if u do, it's a piece of cake Just use a longbow to lure groups of 4-5 stone summit...

sorry, no traps. However I have now completed this quest.

I dodged through the dwarves and opened up Borlis Pass and then killed them from behind. Have also done most quests around there. Now doing Minaar's Trouble and then doing the Borlis Pass Mission.

Also, where can I get a better bow? Mine is a charrslaying bow with 11-19 attack and 15% against charr and 20% damage increase.

I think the reason u were having problems is becuase there are 3 quests on the same pathway as the primary mission (increasing the number of foes), if u dropped those quests it would have been easier for u. As for a better bow well for that ur either gonna need to buy one, craft one, pick one up, or recieve one from rewards or other players.

It might also be because he choose some odd henchies.

I'd have the ele instead of the enchanter. I think I had Aiden instead of the necro.

Getting a better bow... just kill things for a good one down the way. I've never gotten a collector to give me a bow, so I can't help you get one from a collector. Just travel and you'll eventually get a good one.

Good luck!

welcome to the first place in the original game where some strategy comes into play. Up until this point, there was really no challenge tot the game. You could pretty much rush head-first into any mob and just hack at things without problem. This is the first time when you learn that there is more to the game than point and shoot.

As a ranger you will learn that pulling is a good part of your life and that is a great quest to test that out on.

If you are just playing with henchies, flag them off somehwere back and then you go ahead , target one enemy and use your bow to hit one and start running back to your group. That splits out mixed (but separate) mobs so that you decrease the numbers.
