Im a Cantha Born character and im too lazy to do the closer to the stars quest or the mission leading up to it. I have done all of the Command Post quest, ie Prisoners of War, and I have done the Great Escape to get Koss back. The Profession changer is at the command post but he still will not let me change my secondary profession. Any ideas what to do?

I believe you need to ascend to change professions.

If you are atill at the point stated, you'll probably need to finish the Venta Cemetery mission, gain either Master of Whispers or Margrid, do their connecting quests and the appropriate mission, then finish Moddok crevice. Once you kill the Hunger, you are ascended.

I'll never get it why people would want to leave Factions to level or ascend quicker... The opposite is true - from the point you get continental travel, it always pays to do Vizunah square, the connecting quest and Nahpui quarter...

I was pretty sure that u have 2 get koss back, then do the the 3 building the base quests, the get your reward for 'The command psot' quest'. That was it for me.

The Ascension mission for NF is the one where you clear out the command post, look at the following link to GWiki;

If you look at the notes to the bottom, it says that non-Elonian characters can not ascend in this manner. And I don't think, therefore, a nonelonian character can ascend in Nightfall. How interesting

Didn't work? OK, I'll have to confess that I posted my answer in ignorance, as I mistook the quest "Hunted!" for killing the Hunger. And, of course, I missed the basic that elona is not an option for ascension for foreigners.

Although I must confess that I keep getting the feeling that this keeps changing.

When I got one of my characters from prophecies past nahpui quarter, he couldn't change professions because he wasn't ascended at home. Later, itbecame possible to ascend from Nahpui, making it easiest way to ascend. And now this about Elona.

Anyway, sorry for giving out the wrong info.

I had been under the impression one needed to ascend at home prior to the profession changing. This could be bypassed to some degree by entering sunspear sanctuary with another peep who had unlocked that changer though.

Yeah i was wondering about that because i could change my professions as a Elonian born character after i did all the command post quest. Thanks for the info though, I guess I have to do 2 more missions in Factions. =(
