note that I voluntarily increased gamma to make missed spots easier to see...if it's not a good idea tell me.
Generally the gamma increase is both a good thing and a bad thing. Good because it's a bit easier to see certain darker areas that you could have missed, and bad because the thing that we rely on to see the differences is that the maps will look the same except for the difference. So we look specifically for any color changes. Increasing the gamma really messes that up. Luckily the people here analyzing your map have done so, so many times that we already know where to look for the missing areas in most cases, and thus the gamma won't mess that up too much. But as a general rule, go with normal gamma. If you have problems seeing places we've pointed out already, then you might try increasing the gamma.

I had a quick look at your shots and I already see a heap of areas that you need to hit. The big ones that don't need much specific explanation are Fort Aspen, Jade Quarry (inside the mission areas), and the NE corner of Shiro's banishment area.

I'll do some actual analyzing a bit later if someone else doesn't get to it first. If you are using Leighwyn's method of flipping back and forth between your map and his map on top of each other, you should be finding heaps more yourself. Just search all the edges.

After taking a better look at my map i found out that i miss something on the noob isle (the monastery training) Does anybody knows how to get there?

And i made it to 95.4% so i still need 4.6% (thats almost half Noob Island :O)
Could somebody again please take a look at it...
If you allready are bussy with it... consider this as not written.

Thank you Livingstone, following your advice I managed to grab 0.3% in Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry. As far as I can see I can't do better here (I do alt-tab method as I always did on TC Fish 100% map) but concerning the NE Shiro banishment area it looks like he won't banish me there.
My Ranger get banished onyl to the NW and I tried a lot of banishments. (my method : removing ALL my armor leaving my R in underwear and getting here with a friend. Shiro banishes me almost instantly while my friend remains out of the aggro range.) From what I've read on the 40+ pages of this excellent topic, Shiro banishes a character only to a certain location, so how am I supposed to uncover NE area ?

What he was saying is that you need the NE part of the NW banishment point (since, as you said, that's the only place you'll ever be taken). Just get banished to the normal spot but REALLY wall-hug (well, cliff-hug I guess), maybe even idle in corners for a few seconds.

I have created a thread that compiles most of the static information that can be found in this thread. Things that Leighwyn and Shyft The Pyro have repeated thousands of times:

Becoming a Grandmaster Canthan Cartographer!

Hopefully it will enable more people to clear their maps without having to have other people point out their spots.

I have also created some maps that can be used by the people on this thread to easily show what other people are missing without having to mark spots on maps and reupload them, or write out a ton of directions to specific areas:

Shing Jea
Kaineng
Mount Qinkai
Unwaking Waters
Luxon

To use them, find the areas people are missing on their map as usual, then consult these maps and find the number that corresponds to the spot they are missing, post the link to that map and the number of the spot below it. For example:

Shing Jea

3
5
6
8

Kaineng

2
5
7
9

If they are missing a spot that isn't numbered on my maps, just say to the right, left, above, or below a number that is close to it. If you find a spot that is being missed by many that isn't marked on my maps, please let me know and I will update them.

I hope this will make the process of checking people's maps quicker and easier.

But of course if you find your standard way easier, that's your prerogative.

Livingston

PS: Taeron and thomasnl88, maybe you can be my guinea pigs and test out the new thread. Just read it through and follow the directions, then see if you still need help with your last bits afterwards. Let me know how it goes.

I got my map almost done, but since Leighwyn already updated his, there is no need to me to finish mine. Instead, I marked the last spots Leighwyn is missing in his map and uploaded it.

Leighwyn, get those last few spots and your map is perfect (excluding Shing Jea Arena and alliance exclusive areas). I honestly think those are the last spots you are missing. You have done great work on your map.

BtW, Livingston, that's a very nice guide you have made.

I won't be posting as often in this thread because school is starting for me. Between Leighwyn getting his internet back and Livingston pitching in, I think you've got the things well covered

Alright Livingstone I accept to test your "check out those critical zones" maps
I'll tell you how much I have gained once I'll be sure having used your maps at their full potential ^^
By the way great job on the new thread.

Yay Vizunah...........again................

Thanks for the info, even if I hate hearing it. I always run out of time to map that lower edge because everyone is in gogoogogoogo mentality. Why can't there be a peaceful, all-hench squad around whenever you want

During the festival, they had the games area in the training area. I ran around the whole area and opened it all up.

Well, contradictions are apt to arise when you resuscitate a reply from three months ago that's on page 2 of a thread with 44 pages
