Ah. That's quite possible, considering Leighwyn hasn't updated that map in a while.

Not sure if someone has said anything regarding this already. I'm having some trouble getting the area just southwest of Zos Shivros Channel. Any ideas?

Thank you so much for your help. Considering I couldn't even see the spots when I knew where to look, I really couldn't have done it without you.

Hey RoadKill, could you possibly upload a copy of your map. I'd really like to check it against the one I was using to see if I can find any differences in the places you mentioned.

It was the part in the SW of Nahpui Quarter that got me the last bit for my 100%. Which is weird because I had just redone that area yesterday. However, this time I turned up my gama to near full so I could see exactly where everything was, which I believe is what did it for me.

I went to get the spot in Arborstone right before that.

Here is the updated SSs of those areas. Could you guys check to see if they look clear to you now?

Small

Large

Now I'm off to get that spot on the mountain.

Livingston

Edit: I've been to the map. I did notice any change but here's the updated SS:

Mount

Does it look clear to you guys now?

Edit 2: Here is my Shing Jea Island:

Shing Jea Island

Can you guys have a look and see if I missed anything. I don't think I have but now that I have 100% I'd like to double check everything.

Enter the Mission at that town, and you can explore that area for 1 min before the challenge mission begins.

Easy.

Hi. I've been following the thread relatively closely, and I have a problem. I don't have Photoshop, so I've basically been utilizing the 100% map in either MS Paint or a browser, and doing the alt+tab method, as well as the side by side comparison. I am now at 98.8% and can no longer see anything.

What is the best method for me to post screenshots? Minimaps in multiples or what? It's not my forte so I apologize. Never have been good with programs of the like.

Thanks to Shyft for posting my missing spots - The denote the places I have visited - I know it was a while ago - I'm slow, unfortunately I have a real life job, and they wont pay me to play guild wars! Anyway - 99.2% now...

There are a fre places you mentioned I have a queries over...
- SW Corner of Shing Jea Monastery - I know this is an often missed-out spot and i have visited it 3 times on 3 separate occaisons and cannot seem to reveal any more of the map! Is there anything special about this I should know?
- South wall of Sunqua Vale - again - edge walked this, got as far into the water as I could (also tried exploring the SW corner of the Monastery from outside) but didn't seem to show any more map...
- Dragon's Throat outpost - you say explore from outside the outpost - by this do you mean go through Vizunah Square mission?

Also, is it possible for someone to let me know where there is the most recent 100% map? I would look through the thread but it is very long so if someone knows the post number off the top of their head I would really appreciate it. I was just wondering if the map I was using wasn't completely 100%...

Thanks.

Hi, trying for 100% on a Tyrian toon; I notice some say that you can't, others say that you can, and a map of a Tyrian's 100% of Cantha is shown - but how do you access the "insignia" area as a Tyrian? I notice that that area is uncovered on the Tyrian map of Cantha, and I have no idea how to get there.

I'm not close enough to 100% to need help with an overall map; I am just starting the process really but I thought I had roughly 100% of accessible Shing Jea (starting with the easy bits) and then saw that others had this starter area that I can't get near.

You can't

At least you can't unless they have another event (like the Dragon Festival) which allows non-canthans in there... It's been proven that Tyrians don't need the Monastry Overlook to gain Grandmasters title, there's a 1.0-1.2% leeway. you'll just have to work a little harder at it than us Canthans!!

Leighwyn's map on page 1 and 2 is definitely 100%. It's not the most up to date, and apparently Roadkill has more, but it is definitely enough to get the title. I'm hoping that Roadkill will post one as well though.

I don't really know what you mean by insignia area. Are you talking about the arena or the monastery overlook? Those are the only places that you can't access normally as a Tyrian. Yet on Dragon Festival you could access the overlook, and you can still travel to the arena outpost, which will give you most of the map, if not all.

It doesn't matter though, because you don't need it to get the title. I have it now, and I don't have the area either, even though I was here for the festival, I didn't realize you could get in there until after it was over.

Thanks; yes, the "insignia" area I guess is called Monastery Overlook - it's where the testing for the Insignia happens for new Canthans, so I assumed that it would be clear. Ok, then I won't worry about that little bit and I'll work on the rest of the continent, and when I get stuck in the high 90s I'll be back to plumb this thread.

Welcome to the above of aspiring Canthan cartographers, Master of Beasts and writer of guides

Canthan characters initially start out in the Monastery Overlook and can uncover the whole area by following the tutorial. Tyrian characters could only access the area during the Dragon Festival, and even then it would not show up on the overview map as the Monastery Overlook because the Dragon Festival turned the arena into an extension of Shing Jea Monastery outpost.

The spot is against the wall behind the Xunlai storage agents in the very SW corner of the zone. If you've already visited it, please post an updated screenshot of your "U" window so we can determine if you've uncovered everything you could. As stated before, not all fogged spots are large enough to net you a % towards the exploration title, so you might have unfogged the spot without noticing it.

Generally though, if it takes too much time to unfog, move on to the next spot. There are always easier ones, since you don't have to uncover them all to get the title.

Same as above. Please post and updated screenshot or just move on to other spots.

No. As posted earlier, Dragon's Throat outpost is glitched in that it doesn't show your character's location marker on the "U" map, same way as in the Dragon's Throat mission. To uncover the outpost you need to walk outside into Shadow's Passage and get as close to the zone barrier as you can without entering. That won't uncover the outpost completely, but is sure to net you an easy fog spot or two.

The best thing to do is stretch your "U" window as wide as possible and take screenshots of different areas, preferably overlapping them as little as possible while making sure you don't miss any. Guild Wars saves screenshots as BMP files, but those are generally too bulky for online communication, so just open them in MSPaint and save them as JPG files instead ("Save As..." and choose "JPEG" from the dropdown menu that lists "X-color Bitmap" at the bottom of the window). You don't need to worry about stitching the screenshots together because you're not trying to make a complete map, and it's actually easier to host these smaller files. Upload them to an image hosting site like Imageshack.us and link them from your post so that someone can compare them to Leighwyn's map for you.

I started working today on creating my own version of the Canthan map. Got about 1 of 5 done. I'll probably get it finished in next 2-3 days if I don't get suddenly busy or something. Before continuing working on my map, I should pay a visit in The Jade Quarry since I'm missing a spot at the Luxon starting area.

In a meanwhile, could someone tell where I could host the map when it's done? Someplace where I don't have to register to upload pictures. The file will be probably 4-5 Mb large so ImageShack and few others are out of question.

Also could you and Shyft please check my maps on post #784?

That map can't be analyzed except maybe for the guy that does the negative shots, as I don't really know how that works. If you want the majority of people on here to analyze it, you need to hit the "U" button in game and drag that map until it is fully open. Then take a screen shot of each section in chunks. Like this:

http://www.gothic-rose.net/link/livi...a%20Island.jpg

That's Shing Jea Island in one shot using the U map, depending on the resolution you use, you may need to take two screenshots to get all of Shing Jea.

My advice is to take one of Shing Jea and post that. That way we can see if you've done it correctly. If you have, we can look at it and point out anything you've missed there. Then you can take more of the other parts and work on Shing Jea while we look over your other maps.

Also in the mean time check for these spots:

http://s66.photobucket.com/albums/h272/tortuganmap/

And these spots:

http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/5052/smapfr1.jpg

If you haven't been inside Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry, those are two big spots you need.

NW corner of Unwaking waters Explorable area.
Big area in the NE corner of the Mount Qinkai.

You're missing a couple of these spots as well.

http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/5052/smapfr1.jpg

You are also missing the most NE corner of the map. It's a little spot you need to get when banished by Shiro. When wall walking there, face the NE corner and go very slowly, there will be a place that juts out slightly which will allow you to get this area.

Unfortunately I have to leave now, but those spots I mentioned will probably get you 100.

Also check these areas as I mentioned above:

http://s66.photobucket.com/albums/h272/tortuganmap/

I'll edit this post when/if I find more.
