Default Opening up the Tyria map to play EOTN

Anybody know whether you have to have every town opened up in Tyria to get to the new content in EOTN only i've had so many of my characters run to droks and i've missed most of the jungle area.

I don't see why you would need to. From my understanding, you access the new content through LA, Kaineng or Kamadon, same as before.

Yeah, you'll need Lion's Arch.

that is of course just an educated guess, it could very well use high end areas since its based around end-game characters...

I think you are misunderstanding...or di not explain well enough in that statement. They are wondering what you will need to access EotN content. The E3 thing is mentioned as this:

There is an actual area of the game (Eye of the North) CALLED Eye of the North (which he later states will become your base of operations) So basically what you refer to in the E3 demo is basically saying there is an outpost or small area actually called the "Eye of the North" which while you are playing EotN, quest to go find.

The Quest itself may be either in the game EotN (near the beginning most likely) or in each of the campaigns main cities to bring you into EotN (game), to go look for EotN (place).

I hope that was not in any way confusing...Just for speculation, you would require a max level character, and in a few threads people have been talking about the requirement of "Ascension" as well, which may or may not be true, but in the case that it IS true, the location of how you enter EotN may differ from merely the main city in each campaign.

Based on that (pure speculation here of course) if not Lion's Arch, Kaineng and Kamadan then Temple of Ages, Zin Ku Corridor and Chantry of Secrets would be the logical (?) places to access GW:EN from. But I don't know any more than any one else does.

Likely you will enter GW:EN from the rifts caused by the earthquakes. Those could theoretically open up anywhere. Most likely it will be from KC, LA, and Kamadon though. Remember that there were 3 new NPCs added and then removed from those three cities about a month ago that had no purpose at the time.

It makes sense that you would receive the quest from the same place that your receive the quests to go to the other campaigns of GW... Thus Kamadan, Kaineng and LA. They are the main outposts, so it simply makes sense.

Actually I think there will be a simple way to access each of the new areas; like the others have explained. However I would not be surprised if they opened up the possibilities to get to other areas via the original Tyria areas. Have to remember that they did that port from the Desolation (Nightfall) to Crystal Desert (Prophecies). I mean other access points would be pretty cool, for veteran toons that have gone through prophecies at least once.

If its a way of linking Tyria to EotN then it's quite possible that you may find yourself back in Ascalon before you set out on your new adventure.

It might actually be that you enter EotN from Sardelac Sanitarium. After all, the entrance to the undergrounds was blocked off during the Searing, and Gwen was probably trapped inside and made her way from there to the Northern Shiverpeaks (how else could she have survived?) Now with the rifts opening up, the entrance may have been unblocked, allowing us access - with a gate guard only letting level 20s pass.

Eh? Eh?

Makes sense.

I can see them placing ports like the one from the crystal desert to the desolation.

[Edit] I mean on top of the usual transport from the other chapters, you obviously don't need Proph if you have factions or NF.

They shouldn't force people to own Prophecy to play GWEN, or they would have said something to the effect of "must own Prophecy to play GW:EN."

So, no, you'll probably only have to make it to the main port city of ONE of the Chapters.

That said, I wouldn't mind some additional contact for those of us who own all three Chapters...

I anticipate that different areas and locations in GW:EN will be available all across the map(s) from different areas we may or may not already have. It would be pretty lame to make all of the GW:EN content accessible from any single city (even per campaign).

Agreed, just like going to each other the other campaigns already by just doing a quest in LA, etc. They should change it up and make it a little more interesting to access the areas. (like the Sardelac Sanitarium) so it wouldn't be the same old thing each time.

Anyone that does not own Prophecies will get quite the shock when going into EotN though (especially if the players get to see the entire Tyrian map when they open their map up) they would just be "why didn't I buy Prophecies!?"

There's a corner in Flame temple corridor that has several inaccessible portals, and considering the region is populated by Charr it is possible that the earthquakes make these accessible to reach the Charr homelands.
