Thanks for the responses. I like to have as much info as I can before I make a decision. I'm bummed now because the price at Fry's has gone up to $39.99, like everywhere else. I wonder if they'll honor their previous, $29.99 price? Wish I had ordered it earlier.

They should probably have it sometime this week, at least that's what they said in my area because the one that I pre-ordered at said they ordered the shipment on July 25th and it takes about 5 days or so to receive it.

From what I hear there are limited numbers, I'm counting my blessings for getting my copy over here in Australia. If we can get it I'm sure others will get there copies before the preview event, still have 4 weeks to go for that.

I have a quick question, what exactly is the pre-release pack?

I thought it allowed access to the sneak-peak event and gave the special weapons, yet GAME (a major UK retailer) is giving this with the actual game itself for £18 (about $36 I think)

Pre-release is just supposed to be something free you get when you order the game, it's not the expansion. Oh yeah I found this on the guild wiki:

The GW:EN Prerelease Bonus Pack became available through the Guild Wars In-Game Store on July 20, 2007 and will be sold in the in-game store through August 31, 2007. Retailers may have made their copies available on that date or soon thereafter.

Information received this date from the North American Vice President of Sales and Marketing provides some insight on store availablity. It's important to note that stores do not expedite shipment of their supplies of pre-release products, and therefore the "shelf date" is not as formal as that for a game release. This is by no means a complete list:

Canada:
FutureShop Canada -- in stores Monday/Tuesday week of July 29
EB Games Canada -- mid-week week of July 29
United States
Fry's -- in stock and has had inventory since mid-week last week.
GameStop and EB Games US -- 80% of these stores will have the PBP in stock by Tuesday of the week of July 29
We recommend that you telephone your local retailer to inquire if the store has received its shipment of the PBP.

Please note: In addition to ordering the electronic version of the GW:EN Prerelease Bonus Pack through the Guild Wars In-Game Store, you can also access an electronic pre-order through GameStop.com, EBGames.com, Outpost.com, CompUSA.com, and Amazon.com.

I wish they would have said something about it being available July 29th instead of saying it was available July 20th at stores. Mine's not open yet so I can't check.

My local GAME had the GWEN pre-box on sell for a week and a bit now, price at £1.99. If you pre order it make sure you get the preorder box, cus if you dont you won't be able to get the key code for the preview or the weapons.

And it will be to late for the sneak preview if you get the preorder box together with the full game box.

It says that they will email you the code for the Sneak Peak event (in the smaller print lol) and I haven't seen a pre-release pack on sale at any of my local shops (there are like 3 lol)

Hi Guys,

I went into Game on Saturday and obtained the Bonus pack for £1.99 inside was the bonus key booklet containing the Bonus key code to release the bonus items

It seems Game stores vary from store to store

this I obtained and have my pre -order game from a cheaper supplier than Game

Just got it from EB Games in Montreal, Quebec (downtown). Been visit there for the 5th times. 5$ CAD as deposit, no tax (Discount toward retail copy)

Yay! I just got my PBP at GameStop! It looks like they had only a certain number of PBP's at the store unless they had more in the back because when he opened up the drawer, I only saw my box in there; other people must've picked theirs up early since I did come in pretty late.

But what kinda stinks is that I'll get my GW:EN on September 1st instead of the 31st since the game ships out to them on the 31st but goes on shelves the 1st

The shipping date is on the 31st which is a Friday not Saturday but it will be on the shelves at GameStop the 1st. I didn't get NF right away so I have no idea about that mess.

All I know is I went to Best Buy on October 26th at around 10:15am (Opens at 10am), they had it out on the shelves.

I recall the release date was suppose to be the 27th?
Unless that was outside of the US.

There was never a problem for the actual game... (got it on launch night, CE version) but it was that "prerelease" that is next to impossible to find.

It ended up taking me all the way till mid December to actually be able to find a store that has a Nightfall prerelease bonus pack... one and a half months after the game is released it is finally available.

Same goes for GWEN. The prerelease, again, is still no where to be found.

PS. And I still can't find the Factions prerelease till even now
