Default 40 new armor sets, including RARE, stand alone SETS

What do all you think this means? Will there be full armor sets like those dervish gloves we have all looked at? Or does this mean that there will be a piece for each class?

I am hoping that there will be a cool set like those gloves that can be dyable.

What are your thoughts?

those "Dervish gloves" will probably be a cross class thing, so all classes get them, and perform a specific role, such as reducing some kind of damage, increased damage against some type of monster etc

those dervish gloves ARE a cross class thing, as exposed before by someone else.

Yes, there's a ninja mask, as well as a couple other stand-alone head pieces such as a bandanna and that weird mask that's been floating around in screenshots.

It seems like these stand-alone pieces are just that- individual profession-generic pieces, and not sets. It's strange that they named them "stand-alone sets", since the two terms kind of contradict each other.

Just a thought, maybe that mask is an Asuran night-vision goggle.

Cause you know, in real life, caves and caverns are actually pretty dark.

Anyone else feel this game is going from CORPG, to the common mainstream MMORPG? Soon, we have to wear armour from the LOOTS we get like in other games. GW2 sure seems likes it backing away from the CORPG aspect of GW, and the overall BALANCE and FAIRNESS to everyone concept Anet promoted when making GW. Well, what else do you expect from a subdivision of NCSoft. Afterall, every OTHER game of NCSoft has monthly fee and is a REGULAR MMORPG. Still, I love GW and Anet for what they do. XD

NCSoft runs a couple free games I believe...besides GW...Dungeon Runners is free with the option to upgrade to membership...and I believe Lineage (the original) is free now too...and Anet has said that they intend for GW2 to be a free to play game as well (they might have even set that in stone I don't know)...just like Guild Wars. With Guild Wars they have proven that they can run the game on a subscription free basis...and the people love them for it...why would they change? They would lose a hell of a lot of their customers.

That 8 minute(?) video demo of GW:EN when that guy (ben?) talks about all the aspects of GW:EN (Mini Games/Asura/Heroes)
When he shows the character select screen, he shows an ele with the gloves on as well.

With the talk about boss drops, it might be another step.
They already had (sort of) armor drops in Nightfall, so I assume the next step would be ACTUALLY seeing it drop off a boss and not just appear in inventory.

Although, maybe if the gloves (Mask and I'm sure a few others) are boss drops, it may work just like the challenge missions where it does just show up in your inventory and not drops.

Might also be you can only get one drop from whoever/whereverper character and the armor is assigned so that it wont be like the hero armos where people were selling multiples of them.

3 weeks and we'll find out for sure
