I really hesitated when I wanted to make this thread, I wasn't sure if it was thread-worthy but I won't get any attention in another thread.

My point of this thread is gathering as many opinions as possible about the Hall of Monuments, in which you can showoff your achievements in all the three Guild Wars campaigns like minipets, weapons, and mainly items. I want (and I think many others) want GW2 to be a fresh, new start. Get over it, say goodbye to GW "1". What my biggest fear is, that especially in PvP, people will yet again discriminate you because of your titles achieved in GW "1". I can already imagine 'high end' PvP areas like Heroes Ascent (revision 2) being ruined by parties asking you to show your uber r9+ title in the Hall of Monuments in the previous Guild Wars campaigns... What do you guys think? Will the HoM create new problems in GW2 regarding discrimination or won't this form a problem?

No. I'm pretty sure it won't come to that. Guild Wars 2 is a brand new game. Skills and tactics would be different, mainly because of the new playable Races and their race specific skills. I don't think it will be too much of a problem.

Holz, we don't know, and won't for a while, just how this "carry-over" will be implemented.

Yes, I can forsee problems with it, if it is just a straight 1:1 type system - but I doubt that it will be.

Look on the upside though - we've as much as 2 years to grind to get uber titles if we want them.

I think the Hall Of Monuments is a great idea and cant wait to see mine. I dont think what you say will take place. I doubt a party will ask you to cart them over to your Hall Of Monuments to see a rank 9 title that was earned in a completely different system.

If you want it to be a fresh start, then don't like your GW1 account to your GW2 account. Problem solved.

Short answer: HoM Good.

Otherwise, Guild Wars would pretty much just die as everyone would be waiting for GW2.

Selling point of GW:EN: You can take it with you... (although not exactly true)
