Default GWEN bosses and hero/hench

We have learned from the demo videos that end dungeon bosses will fling fireballs and such at parties when they get near enough. It looks easy enough to dodge them, but what I am worried about is hero/henchies just standing and taking the hit without dodging the projectiles. Will there be something in place for these type of parties to be successful? Or is this anets way to ensure that we all have to pug the dungeons?
I realize that we have the option of being able to flag them out of the way of the projectiles, but that just seems to be a little silly for us to do, when hero AI should recognize that they shouldnt just stand in harms way.

Well, you just pay attention to surrounding and flag them via "mission map".

Why would it seem silly? Most GOOD PvEers know when your squishy is being attacked you flag them out of danger.

No, most good PvE'ers take real people and don't SP.

Henches will suck until they find a way to make a better AI system, and that will take a while, i dont think we'll be seeing good henches until gw2

there's a simple solution to crap henches

use heroes instead.

I would rather go with real people. I hate trying to micro manage my heroes. The reason I have a character is to controll it, not to pend time controlling a party. If I wanted that I would go to single player RPGS or RTS...

I am hoping there is a way to complete these without having to watch my heros and hench because I get alot of playtime in the wee hours of the morning where not many people are on :S

Looks like we're either going to have to flag our heroes around or let them take the damage and risk a party wipe.

It looks like ANet wants us to use human parties more, which means we'll need to be in guilds because pugs suck.

That means most good PvE'ers die a lot. Pwnt!

Anyways. I really don't see those "fireballs" as anything difficult. I think you'd have to be termendously stupid to let those hit your henchmen.I just bind my flag key to V and my cancel flag to X. Easy mode hero/hench movement.

The only thing I'm worried about is if there'll be bosses/fights where you have to have someone use a switch or something. That in itself isn't too bad, but if there's an encounter that requires two or more people to flip a switch in a given amount of time...Well, I guess we're gonna have to get creative with Recall if we want to be able to do this instances in our spare time.

The only reason why I still PvE with one other person is because we can't take 7 heroes. Otherwise I'd take a group of heroes anyday.

I hero/hench with my Ele and Mes, (both NF chars), all through Nightfall, Prophesies and Factions.

Don’t see GW:EN being any different!

Only exception being going back and helping guidies

Ultimately I will use teams of guildies to the best I can. At least I know they won't stand in AOE!

(Also I'm lazy when it comes to flagging because I keep forgetting to remove the flags.)

Henchies and heroes are the way!
Just flag every hero of yours at some position, and if you need to move henchies you will not need to move heroes AND henchies, you just move the bloody henchies, its easy!

i don't disagree with u that Henches/heroes r suck but i trust my Henches/heroes than player and i finished almost every single mission in Pro/Faction/NF without Pug. Do u think Anet give u 10 more heroes in GWEN for nothing?

I actually macro'd a key to my "Flag AI party" button. Makes life so much easier for me cause I can just press that button and flag based on what I see instead of relying on the lovely detail of the map. (/sarcasm)

Well so long as you have a smiting monk with 100 energy and 10 energy regen you can flag the heroes miles away and just dodge the fireballs yourself - oh yea, and keep hitting the boss for 999 damage as well

Hey, at least they thoroughly tested the dungeons!

That is the problem. Everyone will be playing it. Getting good PUG (if that even exists) will be harder then usually.

Guildies & Heroes FTW.
