Same opinion as mine (right back at you Herbalizer). Every person I personally know with FoW armor who earned it (ie, didn't ebay) is over the age of 20, with a full time job or college career. It takes a lot of dedication to get that rich, something most OCD kids can't do.

It was Hard Mode that "diluted the rarity" of Colossal Scimitars (by providing more places to farm them), not inscriptions...

if u want to define what are rare items? its the combination of skin + req
Instead of skin + req + mods like it use to be. Witch is good imo.

there are a lot of people who still think like this:
ok if u can inscribe your req 13 rare skinned item and no1 will see the difference....

Same.

Its sad where this game is going. ANet needs to stop babysitting players who think (and usually do) achieve everything by whining.

No!

But the casual players want it. Too late now for this poll.

Inscribable items are like Factions' material storage. I bet they will make everything inscribable after GW:EN comes out.

The inscription system was an idea entirely thought up and implemented by Anet, not the players. Since the very first mention of it, there was a very loud moaning noise coming from the high-end collectors and e-peen crowd. That moan has only lessened due to many of them leaving the game because of it, those who remained continue to moan and whine about it.

If Anet discontinued the inscription system, it would be because they gave into these whiners - not the other way around.

Well, the vast majority of GW Players is casual players who play an hour or 2 a day. The change of the inscription system was made purely for them, because it allows them to have leet weapons without buying online gold for it or farming their behinds off.

As long as this game is being played by a majority of casual people don't expect advantages for the 'hard-core group' to come.

My 2 cents

Personaly, I don't like the idea of farming for hours on end just to make a buck. As well, I can't be bothered to take the time being a power trader. I find both things to be rather boring and acomplish little for the effort put in (my opinion). The inscriptions however have allowed me to customize my characters the way I want them for less time investment, which is good for the more casual player. Like Ensign said, pick your side of the line, casual player or power farmer/trader.

I wish they won't be inscribable.
If they were anyway then I wish they won't make old non inscribable items inscribable as well (retroactively).

Please make GW:EN drops inscribable...it would be horrid to go back to the old way of things again.

To be honest, i'd like to see an update like there was for the armours that makes all existing items inscribable. It'd just mean you can finally have the skin and stats that you want.

I vote for player choice.

I was messing about with my GW age last night and worked out I have played on average 2 hours a day since I got GW. A massive chunk of that is afking like how I have been on GW for an hour today but all of it was afk. Apparently I am meant to be rich or something...

A low amount of time played does not make you a casual gamer (please no," But wot bout p3r50n wiv 200 hrs on der acount lolz!!".

The ideal behind what i am trying to get across is this....

There are many many non inscribable items that are perfect, and still not expensive... Crafters also can make u anything, perfect to any level, that cost 10kish...

If the causual player just wants something that is perfect, 10k is nothing....

There are some rare inscribable items, still.... Tormented, elemental swords....

Many people play the game for many different reasons.... some just farm, some to get every char threw the end of all the chapters, some just pvp, some love 1 class and want to own "rare items" for that class....

My point is more then "the market, or economy". They are making it so nothing has any value, except for the very limited number of some mini pets (that were only released to asia, wierd)... me personaly, i hate mini pets... i thrive on rare skins and stats....

Just an example : There use to be say... 1000 req 9 fellblades 15^50.... now there are 1,000,000 atleast, because all fellblades can be turned into this... so the value, price, want for this item is cut to bits.... Still just 50 mini zheds...

Now your saying.... its just a pet, get a cheaper one... good point... well it is just a sword... get a cheaper one.....

So now, i sell my fellblades, and collect... say.... Spatha's.... guess what.... GWEN about to come out.... guess what... inscribable spathas are proly about to come out... guess what.... time to sell the spathas....

But why, have i not done all i can, as a legit player to earn the perfect spatha?

This is not about "im greedy and want to be only one with this item, because im greedy" this is, i have done my time, i have farmed, i have power traded.... why should someone who got the game 2 months ago, beable to have the exact same things i have?

What is there honestly to "earn" in pve? What is there for the other then casual player to do other then turn a few red dots to grey dots players to actually strive for?

I remember once upon a time, before inscribable.... when a purple item was value, when the "causal player" just went and used greens, or collectors...

How bout this, make everything inscribable, go for it.... and take out all crafters, take out all greens, take out all rare items, make all swords "gladius" make all axes "war axes" all hammers "war hammers" and all staves "jeweled"... lets see how happy that makes all the casual players....

There use to be a point in the "items, rewards" for your pve play, time, and enjoyment... now there are almost none.... you say, play to play, yes, but what happens when u beat the chapter? should i just stop playing till another campaign or expansion comes out? what happens when GWEN is the last one... guess i got about another 2 months left to play.....

I've nothing against rarity, but I've always hated the way it's implemented in GW. Random colour designations, reqs and fixed bonuses are, quite frankly, really stupid design decisions and I'm glad at least one of them has been given the boot.

Don't get me wrong - I have no problem with the concept of certain items existing in very small numbers, but it should be entirely about the skin. A Fellblade should be rare - not a random stat.

There are, apparently, red weapons in GW:EN that you'll be able to get and add to the HoM. These special reds will likely be similar to greens, perfect stats and non-inscriptable. Beyond that... think a minute here folks. Each character we take to EotN will have 10 new heroes to outfit. The inscription system lets the majority of people equip them as best as they can with minimal financial impact, which is as it should be.

I'll guarantee that none of the new heroes care whether or not they're carrying a purple or gold item.

Oh hell no... The lowering in the price of the items is the best thing to happen to us. Instead of playing a frustrating game of "ooo! look at my uber 1337 item WTS 1,000,000k 50,000e" now players can get the SKINS they want and outfit their player with their favorite combination of attributes.

totally wrong.. BECAUSE they are inscribable they can be outfitted with everything you need to make the item you want. THe problem is WORTH to you = Gold.

You have no argument in what I have bolded.

Purple Crystalline Sword R13 14>50 = 100k
Purple Crystalline Sword R10 14>50 = 100k +20 Ectos

That is taking arguably the most desirable / expensive droppable sword and showing that it is easily obtainable uninscribable to casual players.

Warriors using low amount of attribute points in sword ftl.
Difference between 14>50 and 15>50 is non existant.

People claim the GW population NEEDS nice skins at low prices. If so then why those people not whining about there still being skins out of reach of them. I.e. :-

R9 Crystalline Sword = 400e
R9 Dwarven Axe = 120e

Etc.

The HoH drops should have been left alone as casual players could not obtain them now so there is no problem them being unobtainable before.

There are many many other examples of inscribable items being unobtainable to casual players refusing to make any effort to get more than like 100k whether that be because they are wasteful or just plain lazy.

OMFG I NEED INSCRIBABLE CRISTALINE SORD SO IT CHEEP, NO NONINSCRIBABLE 1ssss AS TEHY COST 2 MUCH!!!

Inscribable Crystalline prices = 100 +80e - 100k +400e -- GG

I personally so no reason why people cannot make 1 million gold + with ease and little time. In my opinion there is not a single droppable item in the game which a casual player (playing 2 years) cannot afford but others will disagree. I would actually be embarrassed if I was unable to obtain several million gold casually over 2 years.

Y'all can make a poll and scream for Noooooo we don't want them, and Yeeeeesss gimme inscribable weapons, but I'm willing to bet 10k on it. After GW:EN goes live, the inscription system will be implemented in all chapters. Just like Material Storage.

Sure I do. Because worth to me is not based on wealth. End of story. Talk all you want about prices and rarity. At the end of the day I like the item that I like. Making it more accessible to players is only better. If they made rare items that were only different in name (so people knew you had the 1337 item) then that would be fine. As long as someone could outfit their character with the item look they wanted.

Either you're lying for the sake of argument or I should feel sorry for you and the amount of time you spend playing GW. Either way you're probably in the minority.
