You don't have to pay 1.5K, you can buy them for about 1.25K from players.

As for luck, it sucks for me. None retained, all grape drops. About 5 so far.

4 chests 4 purples = no more chests

Nothing of any real value will drop from the relative low level area we are allowed in now anyway. People trying to sell Highland blades for 100k+ make me laugh, people who buy them make me laugh harder. 10k weapons in a few weeks, if not less.

Pre-view dungeon greens = Grenth Footprint greens aka worthless once the excitement wears off.

Hmm. Actually people are getting gold max inscribable Tribal Axes... which I wouldn't call worthless (You don't always get greens y'know ^^)

26 lock picks bought, got 1 gold. Everything seems normal to me, since im always unlucky anyways, what i really hate is that they say its lvl 20 content and yet every damn purple i get is non max.

I've been getting alot of purples too, but I can't complain. I've been getting some nice golds like my req 9 dolyak prod staff, req 11 platinum blade, req 10 platinum longbow.

I definitely have to agree with that. I can easily get Johon's Longbow and sell them for 25K, but next week, no one will even be interested, I'm pretty sure.

only 2 golds (blazing wing wands -__-)
and not a single new skin...
i hate the fact that i could have spent those money on shards since i still need some for armor

Drop rate appears too high for them to be of any great value.

its just luck of the draw, plus these chests exist in NM and not just HM so the drops from them will be worse then your used to in HM.

Well, chest favour seems to have changed for me.

I opened a lot of golds+retained today, 10 picks lasted me atleast 20 chests.

And thats with 40% retain chance.

I defied the odds.
